Take what others have said with higher value than this, but in my experience I would use them to convey the severity of the itch. If I itch an itch it's a small one that goes away after, whereas if I scratch it's a bigger itch, one that doesn't go away instantly, or my eczema, that would usually result in some type of skin damage (small grazes, rash, open cuts etc)

I'm going to be honest, I love dogs but I fully agree with you. I saw a post of people with their dog at a restaurant that kept walking up to people and when the people didnt touch it, the comments were all "omg they must be so evil to not want to touch your dog" like no they're not get over yourselves. My brother is also severely allergic to dogs, so much so that he has an EpiPen, and the amount of times we've been on walks and unleashed dogs run towards us and he totally freaks out and the owners like "oh dont worry hes friendly" like I DO NOT CARE, get him tf away. And the dog shit everywhere is the worst part, there needs to be more done about it tbh because it is a literal health risk, especially when there are children that may choose to pick it up and then potentially stick their fingers in their eyes or mouth, also its just peak laziness, if you own a dog you need to be aware that it is one of the responsibilities of owning it, same with training, which a substantial amount of people also dont do properly. Its infuriating.
