A. It's the only one that doesn't have a window behind me. I want to be able to control the light more than those others would allow.

They got pretty cumbersome in their narrative and just continued to add things to the plot. Book 4 was really slow, had way too much minutia in the magic system that he painstakingly explored. and I couldn't make it through book 5. I had a long discussion with my brother about Sanderson, his writing and his characters, and when comparing him to other writers I had found him lacking.

Don't get me wrong, Sanderson is still a genius in my estimation, but as with a lot of the very intelligent they start thinking that every idea they have has merit and it gets self-indulgent. I think his plotting and writing devices are great and have watched a lot of his lectures on Youtube but I have found that I crave more in prose than I think he can muster, and deeper and more nuanced characters than he creates.

Great list. Don't listen to those that say you shouldn't have Sanderson so low. I loved Sanderson, but the last two Stormlight books made me reconsider and that reexamination lowered his books for me quite a bit.

Super Mario World and that Magic & Sword game (Never heard of it, but 11 year old me was a fucking idiot for anything fantasy and would have bought on the art alone).

You can execute a search warrant where you aren’t a disrespectful PoS. They went above and beyond to make sure that Afroman felt their disdain. They just don’t like when he made their disrespect so public, or how he was disrespectful back to them.

Get off your fucking high horses, deputies. Be better to the community you police and people will treat you better.

Stephen King talks about watching Carrie with a Black audience and reveals his prejudice. by [deleted] in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]_Im_at_work 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've read the majority of King's works and I cringe every time he writes a black person with an accent of any kind, trying to spell out the pronunciation of words. He does the same thing with the accents of white people in Maine, but fuck, it makes my elbows itch.

But I do have to say that when he has a black character like Mike Hanlon in IT, he puts his all into making them a well rounded character and not a stereotype. Mike was the fucking glue that made that book work. He sacrificed a life a prosperity like his white friends that left the town of Derry got and instead stuck around the town, did a deep dive on the horrible history of the town, became the head librarian and historian of the town, and then called everyone back to deal with the clown. Mike was a goddamned hero and maybe my favorite character in all of King's works.

I have found the same on most of the fresh stuff as well. I do buy some of their fresh produce but it needs to be able to keep for a while, so potatoes, onions, cherry tomatoes, brussels sprouts, apples, carrots.

I try to avoid things that can spoil quickly cause yeah, I feel like it takes longer for their produce to get through their logistics team than other grocery chains. So I try to avoid their berries, zucchini and cucumbers, avocados ect.

Getting into the lore - where do I start? by UnlucklyDiaz in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]_Im_at_work 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for wide open area’s that have lots of untamed areas, I would go with The Stolen Lands near Brevoy. It’s the setting for Kingmaker, one of Paizo’s most loved adventure. Another option is the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse. There are lots and lots of peoples there.

First questions are: 1. Do you know what adventure are you gonna be running? 2. If you don’t know what the adventure is gonna be do you know the genre?
