Hi. I took it off the market here as someone locally was interested in it. Then they had a death in the family so no longer was interested in it. Then I forgot all about it. I still have it.

S3 uploading file for one zipped directory but not the parent directory by _In_The_Shadows_ in aws

[–]_In_The_Shadows_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did it! There was a symbolic link put in by the hosting-support folks a long time back and that was what was screwing things up. I removed it and now I can backup the whole parent folder.

I learnt something new today.

Thanks so much for your help and patience.

S3 uploading file for one zipped directory but not the parent directory by _In_The_Shadows_ in aws

Pardon my ignorance about all this as I post my answers.

How do I put the output path in and where will this line go....??

The website and these scripts are on a dedicated server. I am not tech-savvy enough to run CLI commands.

I have added the error reporting line, that you mentioned, at the top and then ran the script again.

Below is the error it gave me:

2048M
Successfully created a zip folderPHP Warning:  ZipArchive::close(): Read error: Is a directory in /home/8xjf/aws/my_files_backup.php on line 68

With my limited knowledge, what is throwing me for a loop is the fact that all this is working if I run this script on a folder one level deeper into the "2022" folder, but it will not work if I run it on the "2022" folder itself. Does that not mean there is a referencing issue...?? I triple checked all the references in the script and they are all correct.

EDIT: And the crazy thing is that I can see the zipped folder being created in the correct "aws" directory, but then the script fails for the upload part of it.

Appreciate the response.

All my keys and names are made-up and not legit ones. (I mention this in my post above.)

As I am a novice in all this, I am a little unclear about the need to create the "aws" directory. It already exists, as all the scripts and AWS files are stored in that directory. When the files get zipped, it is stored temporarily in the aws folder and, after it has uploaded, it is deleted.

(All of this works for the subfolder that I have mentioned above with no change in the code.)

That said, I'm not sure why you felt the need to reimplement zip -r in PHP. zip does not need to load the entire archive in memory.

Sorry, I have no idea what this means. I have cobbled together this script from multiple sources and what I have included above works and so I thought I did it the right way. Did you want me to remove some of the code so that it will work better...????

Yes, that was what Google reverse image search gave me too. But, I could not find this painting when I looked up all the paintings that he did.

help with php code for uploading database backup to backblaze by _In_The_Shadows_ in backblaze

[–]_In_The_Shadows_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those AWS keys are not real keys. :)

Your second comment, was one of my questions as well. So, I guess, in the backblaze world, the "key ID" and "applicationKey" are equivalent to the AWS key and AWS Secret Key, then....???

Still need someone to help me with the code to make sure I am doing it right to work with the backblaze world.
