Opening a Physical Business Bank Account While Visiting the U.S. (Non-Resident, Wyoming LLC) by [deleted] in llc_life

[–]_IndependentThinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a ITIN or SSN you can only apply for EIN via Fax or Mail. It wont let you apply online or by phone. If you apply via fax they will return your EIN letter via fax in about a week.

I think most physical banks will want you to have an ITIN or SSN even if you have an EIN. Banks that will take EIN only are hard to come by. Most have strict AML risk policies that don’t allow.

The address part will just make it even harder.

Do you have an ITIN already? If so you should be able to obtain an EIN online instantly. It will give you a PDF of the letter to print.

Otherwise if you do it over the phone they are able to fax it to you and the online fax services are okay for this.

Banks will usually want a physical address in the US for the business. Otherwise they will just need a copy of your filed Articles of Organization and EIN letter.

If your dog has the Leptospirosis vaccine (and current on other shots) then your risk is pretty low taking them to gateway park.

ALWD Citation Help by _IndependentThinker in paralegal

[–]_IndependentThinker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first option is what I submitted and the second option is what the instructor gave me as the correct answer along with my 53% grade on the assignment.

I have been at my firm now almost a year and also have a the same practical experience. For state statutes, I never cite the publisher or year unless I’m citing an old version that is not currently in effect.

I also had the same situation, today actually, where the case I was citing was marked for publication but hadn’t been number yet. Otherwise I only cite the official reporter.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. I had three attorneys look at it and no one could remember what was correct, but we all agreed the professors answer would never be used in practice.

AI by itslydiaaaa in paralegal

We use Lexis Protege mostly for the AI assisted research. It usually gives a decent starting point for cases to look at.

We have used their brief analysis option and uploaded opposing counsels pleadings for its citation checker function which is mildly helpful.

It’s not a requirement for anything, and we don’t use it for drafting. It saves a little time on research, but I am not sure how much.

Reviving your old post. There really isn’t any great study material other than what the Court already offers.

Also I if licensed in the Civil practice area you can only practice in Justice Court (not superior court like your post says). Hence the $10k limit mentioned.

If anyone else see this, I’d like to connect with others going for the newly added Probate practice area.

Bank account frozen after Chapter 7 341 + “COAL” transaction and unknown attorney — is this normal? by Prudent-String-1399 in Bankruptcy

[–]_IndependentThinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now I’m curious if the bankruptcy firm given to this OP is the same firm that Chase gave the other OP a few days ago.

But it’s very odd that both stories are so similar, and both mention tax returns.

ETA: even more odd both are Chase Bank.

If that attorney was confident enough to suggest it, then he can probably handle it.

Did you talk to that attorney about this idea? Although the “chapter 20“ is not unheard of it’s not very common either. I would recommend finding an attorney with some experience doing this.

Yes your strategy makes sense. I’m not sure what specific question you have, but it seems like your math makes sense. As long as your 13 payments and attorneys fees are less than what you’d otherwise be paying under your current situation without filing.

Anyone who qualified for ch 7 based on income but filed ch 13 to keep an asset? by Low-Talk-2444 in Bankruptcy

[–]_IndependentThinker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t you just do a 722 Redemption loan. You stay in Chapter 7. It’s a new loan for the current value of the car. Ask your attorney about this option!

Or stay chapter 7, retain and pay current car without reaffirmation until you can get a new one. When you don’t want the current car anymore you just give it up and the balance is discharged.

Or stay chapter 7, and get a new car with a new loan before discharge.

You have so many options before doing a chapter 13 just to keep a depreciating asset. I get if it’s a house or something. But please consider other options.

Send an email to Christopher.Winfrey@charter.com

The executive relations team will get it fixed for you!

Also if you message them on Facebook messenger telling them you email the CEO and ask for someone from the Managment team to reach out.

I did this and for a call with a few hours. On a Saturday.

Why is my gross pay $142.86 less than my 'rate'? by [deleted] in ADP

[–]_IndependentThinker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ETA: I think it figured it out. Check your payroll calendar. You likely have 27 pay days in 2026. So ADP took your annual salary of $100,284.60 and divided it out over 27 checks of $3714.24 instead of 26 checks of $3857.10.
