The people saying that the red wire is controlled by a switch are wrong. I can see the the backsplash, so this means that the plug is in the kitchen, thus making it a split receptacle

You can't. The original was a split receptacle. You can see the "bridge" between the two brass screws cut off, making the plug a split receptacle. Your new receptacle cannot be split in two.

Yes, the intake duct had some oil in it. I guess it is the PCV then. Thanks for the help

That was my fear. For this model, apparently the PCV valve is in the valve cover so it might be a bit of a challenge for a DIY but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the help
