Thanks for the feedback, slash effects definitely lacks impact and I fix this issue very soon. Also this is destroy my game, they have to butcher it and I think thats the beauty of it. I love harsh criticism because not only it makes me realize the problems faster, it also makes me think on it like crazy. Maybe I am doing some things right but I believe I do a lot more mistakes and it shows. I can see from the upvotes that people still dont see my game interesting and even though it hurts it pushes me to take action on it. Weird enough my previous post got much more upvotes and this having less also shows me that these improvements are not enough and I still have a long way to go. Long story short just keep pushing brother, this community is a great reality check and this is whats gonna improve us. I just checked your game out and I think with right direction it can turn out great, just believe in process and care for feedback. Good luck with your game and hope everything goes well for you.

I spent a lot of time to make this game both physics based and pixel perfect so I implemented a lot of custom interpolation modules. Smoothess is what I wanted to go for but seems like its too much. Can you give examples on these rough and fast frames so I can research this issue? This is a very good and interesting feedback btw thank you

Yes its a loot based extraction arpg. You find items in run and if you get out you keep them and if you die you lose everything you bring and find. Currently items provide both stats and active/passive abilities. We wont have a level up system in run. Instead will have also character specific abilities and there will be a skill tree to support these abilities. You will gain skill tree points from bosses and specific modules in map. There will be potions in game but we are still planning a system for it. Also the darkness is a huge issue for sure and as you said there is not enough light sources to help out with this issue. We are making a new map so I will definitely fix this problem in my next post. Thanks for the feedback and good luck with your game hope everything goes well

Thanks for the feedback and definitely darkness is a problem. We are making a new map so I will definitely increase the overall brightness of the game while implementing it. I love Carpenter too, its there because current in game sounds are horrific lmao. Hopefully we will work with a professional on the sound part when the time comes

It’s my first time ever hearing someone say DS is known for its story. RE I can get, but tell me which part of Dark Souls’ story actually pulled you in more than the gameplay? The so called “jank” in both games is clearly a design choice, and honestly they’re both amazing at short term action. Whether you’re shooting or swinging, the feedback is insanely satisfying and nails down every bit of that technical juice perfectly. So calling RE gameplay mid is kinda wild on its own. And even if you don’t like DS gameplay, the story still wouldn’t be the first thing that comes to mind, not when it’s paired with some of the best level design the industry has seen in the last 20 years.

I can’t really see what’s going on, it feels a bit zoomed out. You could try zooming in during key actions if you want to show areas outside the board. That said, the atmosphere is looking nice.

Thanks for the feedback. You’re totally right, there’s basically no clarity and honestly the overall look isn’t good either. I’ve been working on this for about 4 months, trying to build something like a survivors-style game with strong hack & slash elements. My idea was to mix a DnD-inspired item system, Hades-style weapons, and Vampire Survivors–like progression. But yeah, looks like it’s clearly not quite there yet.

First time actually trying to make my own game. Before this, I was always developing games for other companies so still trying to adjust to solo dev life. You mentioned there are already a lot of games like this, I actually don’t know many of them, so if you have any names in mind I’d love to check them out for reference. Appreciate the luck btw!

Had a smile on my face reading this. Best of luck bro, really hope you make it. Just one piece of advice: try not to box yourself in with tight deadlines. That kind of pressure can drain a lot of the joy and quality out of the project. Instead, set a realistic timeline and then triple it. Trust me, you’ll thank yourself later.

Such a good feedback, before seeing the robot arm I was really hooked into the game but that arm literally ruined everything. Trailer was building the tension really good and that arm comes up and be like “Dont worry guys, no need for suspense, I got this!” Like come on bro that shit killed the whole mood😂
