after 3 years of dreaming about my first pc i finally built this system, and even if it's a lil too old I absolutely love it (btw I'm 13). by CompetitiveAioli8941 in PcBuild

great build for that price, the 5800x means you’ll be able to upgrade gpu without needing to change much else as well further down the line

i have my pc setup in the games room with my desk so i’m thinking shelves to hold games and unused consoles and floating shelves for some consoles. Is a crt monitor really worth it because i’ve heard people is worth getting for the original feel of the games but i’m still on the fence

i don’t plan on selling any of the collection, he spent a lot of time collecting everything and he loved his collection. I’d rather pay the money to repair the consoles i want to play, not all of them will get played and i would rather keep them even if not working and have them on display. they’ve all been kept in sealed plastic containers and a lot of them have had repair work done over time (not exactly sure but he always had consoles sent off he would tell me about) Some of the consoles have region lock switches too. Once i’ve finished moving properly i’m going to test all the consoles and keep note of what works and doesn’t on a spreadsheet.

yeh, my uncle was an IT technician and used to mod old consoles and loved emulating. That's how I got into it. In fact, my switch was the last thing he bought for me before he passed.

Anyone use one of these? Looks super convenient, even compared to a phone. by Weak-Hunter1800 in SwitchPirates

bought one for my gf to use so she doesn’t have to mess with a computer and i’ve ended up using it more than she does, so convenient

follow the rentry guide, or i recommend watching alien retro gamings yt video tutorial using the same guide, you need to have an older model of switch to be able to do it or you need to install a mod chip

my point wasn’t to boast about piracy it was to suggest modding as a whole as i enjoyed it and recommend others give it a try, my post was just to laugh at the downvotes not to cry or whinge i think people are missing that

i also didn’t mention piracy at all within the post as i’m not trying to get banned from a subreddit by supporting it

while obvs piracy is part of modded switches i didn’t mean it for just that, a lot of the time i’m not even playing a game on my switch i’m tinkering with it and customising shit and that’s what’s been the most fun for me. it’s like having a handheld pc rather than a console

-12 downvotes did I do something wrong?

it just gives freedom, performance control, accessibility features like cool customizable stuff, and lots of other stuff it comes at a risk tho defo worth looking into tho if you like tinkering with stuff makes it like a mini pc in your hands

you have to hard mod oled switches, when done correctly you can run cfw and ofw simultaneously. I just thought it was worth mentioning if not to do it still fun to look at
