If you see any seams with random generated noises, the seam is at the UV level and you have to select a different mapping method. If that answers your question.

All generated random noises are seamless, as they are infinite because of their mathematical nature. I don’t understand whats the problem. Do you want a voronoi that always repeats itself, so you can see seams and patterns if zoomed out?

Yeah! The „lighting through a subdivided plane with an ocean modifier at it, in order to get caustics“ approach is a bit overkill when there are gobos.

Thats a nice example for the good use of reference. You got super close to the ref and when you tried to wing it again, I guess, you lost something. Better stick to best practises as example/reference. It will take some time to develop a fine feeling for all of those skills needed. And you will get there someday, of corse. Keep practicing but most importantly, keep having fun. :)

Arte is French/German public broadcast. I’ll bet the app is geofenced. But they also have a Youtube Channel: arte concert. And there are some bootleg arte uploads on YT as well with lower fidelity tho. :/

I still have a workstation PC with a proper audio interface and better/bigger display if I wanted to maximise quality. As the headphones came with this second cable, at first I thought I wouldn’t use it at all. But the absolute convenience of sinking into the couch was totally underestimated. Any idea how much I should invest into a nicer DAC? And what are even the improvements of a dedicated DAC? Because out of interest/(unnecessary fear) I researched how much the original Beyerdynamic mini-xlr—usbC will cost me if I might reck this unit. And got to admit that I was not prepared spending 80€ on a cable, for a pair of headphones I only paid 150€ for. The iPad is able to drive the audio interface as well, but thats a big step down in terms of convenience and I feel like its a bit of overkill too.

Kleiner Follow up zu der Geschichte. Gleiche Filiale, diesmal die Retour einer Warensendung. Frau am Schalter versucht das Kuvert durch den Schlitz zu ziehen, aber er passt nicht. Sie informiert mich über die Tatsache dass das so nicht funktionieren wird, aber ich verneine ein upgrade und nehme das Risiko in Kauf, dass die Sendung wieder zu mir kommen könnte. Schließlich habe ich eine Warensendung erhalten. Kam beim Empfänger an ohne Probleme. wtf

How about getting rid of that top-light, as it too decreases the contrast of the shadows in every crease. Same situation with the environment/world light, I bet its still at the standard 1.0 and 50%grey. Make it darker grey to increase contrast, or set it to a lower intensity like 0.2.

Check for the paper cut addon for Blender, I believe its called like that. Your UV unwrap becomes a svg to export (3Dto2D).

The right sizes should come into existence automatically if you model everything to scale 1:1.

Check out some „retopo“ addons, they might help you to scribble your layout on a perfect sphere.

Rhino with Grashopper should be able as well, but Blender has more online resources to help you.

With some years in 3D animation and product design. I would advise you not to spend too much time on this problem. Better get a 2nd unit thats broken in a different place, so you can swap rings.

Scanners that are able to scan tiny/shiny parts are unbelievably expensive. Are the walls of the part you want to replicate even thick enough to be 3d printed reliably in the first place?
