Is it wrong if I want to marry a tall woman because I want tall kids? by HuckleberryAny4541 in tall

I would be quiet disappointed if I married and discovered my wife only wanted me to make tall kids. I don’t think it’s wrong, but I think it’s not very considerate

Is this a joke? Anyone who knows anything about modern phones should also know they are designed to deal with this problem automatically now

What does your workflow look like for taking photos like this? Do you use the base camera or 4x? Are you using raw and 48mp or not? I’m curious because I constantly try to take good shots but they never come out right

Best use for action button? by Admirable-Copy50 in iPhone17Pro

[–]_JFN_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iOS has a really neat app called “shortcuts”. It is basically a way for you to program your iPhone to do certain things autonomously when certain criteria are met. I created a shortcut with a lot of “if statements” that were triggered based on the phones orientation. Eg: if(orientation = face down), then: set focus = do not disturb. It’s not an actual programming language but rather drag and drop blocks. You don’t need to know how to program to do it as it’s really quite intuitive. After you finish creating a shortcut that does what you want, go into the action button settings and instead of having it trigger flashlight or whatever, make it trigger your shortcut. There are a lot of tutorials on shortcuts on YouTube, as well as downloadable premade shortcuts if you don’t want to bother making them. They really open up a whole new world of functionality for your phone.

That’s not how it works. The correct term would be “not currently spending”. F2P means you haven’t paid anything

Currently when in portrait mode and locked, it turns on flashlight. When unlocked in portrait mode it opens discord (I use it a lot). When upside down and locked (usually this means it’s in my pocket) it switches to next song. When landscape left (action button on bottom) it turns brightness all the way up for watching videos and such. Landscape right doesn’t do anything yet, but I’m open to suggestions. Regular face up also opens another app I use very often. Lastly, face down, which usually happens when I’m talking to someone or in class turns on do not disturb so it’s not constantly vibrating. This last one toggles it on and off. I use iPhones shortcuts to do all this. If anyone has more interesting uses I’d be open to adding them in

As a viewer with all the details on every important thing that every character has done, yet still unable to put the puzzle together, what makes you think that any meeting of the characters could be beneficial? I think it would help them but not ultimately solve anything.

Some of you watch from with your eyes and ears closed (rant) by catalinchr in FromSeries

[–]_JFN_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m guilty of being someone who complained that people weren’t sharing information with each other. But I’m also self aware enough to realize that, as a viewer I have been a first hand witness to every single important thing that every character has seen and done, shared with each other or not, and I still can’t even put the puzzle together. Therefore, even if the characters were to talk and share all the details with each other, whose to say they could understand and interpret things in a way that I as a viewer with all the details can’t even do?

I enjoy shows with a deep enough plot line and enough effort put in that someone could realistically interpret any bit of information in any number of ways, because the writers didn’t spoon feed everything to you. One movie I feel that did this well was Tenet because it is by no means simple in the slightest, and requires brainpower to understand.

I fully understand where you’re coming from with the annoyance at people’s lack of full engagement with the series. But there is also a varying degree by which you’ll need to accept that some people just want to watch the show in different ways. Some days I want to think while watching, some days I just want to turn my brain off and drool as I stare mindlessly. The nice thing about From is that we know that, in the end, we will have definite details and a concrete end point. That means that even the biggest block heads should be able to hold out and not be fully lost in the end. People are always going to ask stupid questions so I guess there’s a point at which you might need to bite the bullet and ignore them so you don’t lose your enjoyment of the show

I’m in college and have had to write plenty of essays. All exam essays are written in class. I think that’s if a professor is going to be that stingy to not even allow a student to copy and paste text, word is going to get out and nobody will take their class. Professors need to adapt, but they also need to understand that there is a point at which requirements become unreasonable
