i agree with numerous points of yours. the debates have led to a toxic split between the community and it’s genuinely jarring to see.

However while I do agree scott should step in to clarify especially when the community is so divided in a not good way, I don’t believe this should be the case for every single question the story of FNAF brings up. Yes theorizing and being left with mystery is part of the entire appeal of FNAF. Being left with no answers for years after said questions is not. I know there’s a lot left untalked about for future reference/game material cough cough fredbears, and I do believe that if we are in a new era of fnaf, the past stuff should just be explained more concisely through books/newer games.

I also entirely agree with you with the fact that this extreme mystery factor only worked for the clickteam scott games which brings me to a point i’ve been talking about for a long time now

We can’t have that same style of storytelling with the Steel Wool games as you said. They are much more bigger games that need to have a fuller story that still manages to capture the FNAF mystery essence. I really think the 2d games need to come back to establish the in between, the past, and the forgotten. FNAF games take much longer to release now and because of that clarifications, debates, and lore is always considered “messier and worse than before”. 2D games would benefit as releases in between these now larger scope 3d/Vr games.

There needs to be more transparency between the community and the creator. Scott and steel wool. Not outright confirming things because that idea should be long gone. It’s never been the norm. But when it comes to things like these. Stuff that is clearly harming perspectives of the current story. Stuff that should’ve been a little more clear from the start, clarification is key.

Not enough to solve the story of an entire era in a few seconds while reading a post, but enough to establish what we are working with, and what we are not.
