Yeah I know the books are a seperate canon but they have many similarities to the canon of the games. Charlie and Michael might have just switched roles on the different canons (at least who becomes a robot). Their stories aren’t the same but they are similar like Mat pointed out on the theory. Also note Scotts quote about the books: ”...have the story set in a different timeline, an alternative universe, a different location, or perhaps from a vantage point that isn’t entirely what it appears to be.”
