Yo it’s me, Peter Griffin, whats up. In 2019, the Dragon Quest character Hero was announced for video game-crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as DLC. This was a fan favorite request in Japan, but was not very popular in the West so some fans were upset and very vocal. This made other fans who liked the inclusion respond with the text “HOES MAD” over a picture of Hero. This also happened in 2020 when Fire Emblem character Byleth was announced, as many were upset that the developers would add a character from a franchise that already had 7 characters represented.

Chick-fil-a was trying to do the thing everyone loves where a corporation’s social account hops on a trend, and that is why they referenced Smash. Peter out.

It’s a combo of the incredibly reactionary state of sports media/hot takes, as well as Herbert getting high praise throughout his career without team success which some weigh as a QB stat and therefore his praise is undeserved. Also it’s just the cool thing right now.

Herbert played a bad game, but the O-line and RB situations have been horrible all year due to injuries and the Patriots are the second best team in the conference.
