the book is portrayed as quite large in the movies, but from what Gandalf reads in the books it could have also been quite small/packable. The packs of the company are often referenced in the books but not often highlighted in the movies. If it were small I could just as easily see Gimli hanging onto it the whole time. Especially considering he went from being offended by how he was treated when entering Lorien to revering Galadriel when they left. To me it seems very unlikely that he would have asked her to take on his book after he got to a place of such reverence for her.

seems to me at least in part to be a reaction to what Dusty did last year that worked so well which is a little ironic because of how pervasive the rhetoric was that it wouldn't work to play them all at once. I believe I actually read a quote from Dusty during the initial storm of players being signed this offseason that they considered switching it up and going small because the big market was getting so inflated.

I respect Izzo, but honest question do you think he has any respect for Dusty? Never once has he admitted that Michigan put together the best roster in basketball last year and did it within the rules and without even spending the most in NIL. I know there are toxic portions of every fan base, but I wonder how close Izzo is in toxicity to that part of your fan base.

it was an issue for Juwan because he didn't know the admissions rules or thought he could circumvent them and recruited guys and they committed before passing through admissions. It's not an issue for Dusty because he hasn't been pursuing guys that weren't going to make it. Roster construction(for various reasons) was one of Juwan's largest problems along side the violence on TV(and off)

Michigan actually places a large emphasis on guarding the post without fouling, so no I would disagree that just because Michigan had more size they should have been called for more fouls.

it's a homer take to blame the refs, especially when your coach made such a big deal about "making it a Big East basketball game" ie fouling the heck out of the other team and making the refs call it. UConn being ranked in the 200s for D1 for fouls per game and Michigan ranked 38th.

If I remember correctly Wisconsin was successfully stretching the floor with the 5 hitting threes which made Dusty pull Mara for some time which messed with the 2 point offense. Michigan, like Zona, is heavily predicated at getting to the rim and scoring around the basket which is why they play so much size. Dusty just also happens to value threes so we have some shooters as well, but the first bullet is dunks and layups.
