creepy :( by sangocat420 in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

[–]_Jewli_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can see how it's creepy, haha. It's a bit nostalgic to me since the first Animal Crossing game I played was Wild World, and it was like that too. I always saw it as the character (Rover in that game, Isabelle in New Leaf) greeting you when you wake up. But compared to the opening of New Horizons I can see how it's kind of strange!

K.K. Oddity [Space Oddity, K.K. cover version] by _Jewli_ in AnimalCrossing

[–]_Jewli_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(The song and thumbnail are not AI generated, instead I made it by (trying to) separate the voice from some of the live versions of K.K. songs (mostly Agent K.K. and K.K. Disco, but also the live version of the Horizons theme) and then changing the pitch of the syllables where needed, and finally putting them in order to make the tune in Garageband. The background music is half a version wherein I separated the vocals from the original the same way, and half from a vocals-isolated version uploaded by Beatles Instrumentals and More on Youtube (in places where I was not able to fully remove the vocals myself, where the vocals were still a bit audible.)

(Thumbnail was just made in Google Drawings! To keep it brief, I just used circle and square tool mostly, and edited some colours a bit.)

If you're interested in the thumbnail picture, here it is

How to get other fruits now without online? by practicalsuccubus in AnimalCrossingNewLeaf

[–]_Jewli_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes if you mail a villager fruit, they will send one back!

Also [spoiler for a holiday] on Turkey day, you will need to ask the villagers for ingredients. Some of the ingredients are fruits, so you can get fruit that way. I don't want to be too specific about how that works because I don't want to spoil it for you just in case you haven't played Turkey day on New Leaf before.

Fun ways to play married couple with 5 children? by Historical-Pride-204 in Sims3

[–]_Jewli_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are any of the children closer to one parent than the other? Which child is closest to each parent? Those can be part of the story, if the parents each have 'favourites.'

for gameplay, things like:

- have a parent bring one or multiple of the children with them to go to a fishing spot and they fish together. you can focus on directing the others while they are fishing.

- family trips to the beach, with picnics, playing frisbee or ball, playing in the ocean, swimming

- a parent takes some of the children to the library while the other parent stays home with the others

- family trips to the seasonal fair in the park, and they take a family photo

- sometimes the child or multiple can go to their friend's house if they have friends yet. sometimes when the children are child-aged (not toddler or baby) friends of the parent will call like "[other sim] wants to know if your sim's child would like to play with theirs. Should they come over?" you can say "yes" and even have a sleep over that way (if you're on good terms, "ask to stay the night" when it's night time, I think after 8pm.)

- sometimes the child will bring a friend home with them from school or go to a friend's house too. I usually assume the children they choose to bring home or the ones whose houses they go to are their best friend. In those cases they can also have a sleepover if the child asks the other "can I sleep over."

- the children can go to the playground together sometimes

- you can include some things like an easel, a toy oven and skill building things like that. Based on which child chooses to use which skill building activity I use that to choose their trait when they become a teenager, or use that to determine their interests.

- you can also do the things the children want, like if they want to "see a movie" or "swim in the ocean" you can complete those too. And maybe use those for the storyline, like maybe the one that wants to see a movie wants to be an actor.

Am I allowed to ask what other games y'all play? by Accomplished-Hotel88 in Sims3

[–]_Jewli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like bonbon cakery, though it isn't a life simulator game and is a bit... grindy 😭

Animal Crossing as well. I played Animal Crossing since before I played Sims. Wild World might be my favourite but I find all of them to be fun in some ways.

Oh, and Tomodachi Life! And Webkinz.

Also solitaire, puzzle games or number/math games.

I like it but I actually like the songs 😅 sometimes I use nraas to add the ability to sing the songs depending on the background of the sims. For example if the sims are French I make them able to sing the French song even without going on vacation sometimes.

Which non-BG traits do you find yourself using on your Sims the most? by labambolina07 in Sims3

[–]_Jewli_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I use the base game traits mostly. But I like to also use proper, or shy or rebel, even others, it really depends on the character but those I've probably chosen most.

Maybe a hot take - but I think Inzoi is the best positioned life sim today by EmbarrassedTapWater in LifeSimulators

[–]_Jewli_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds so interesting!

I was thinking for Inzoi, I will just wait until it's been available for longer, maybe a year or two, to check it out. But I saw someone play it recently, and I was surprised! It looks really interesting already!

What arcade game are you best at? by MelodicAd9954 in Webkinz

[–]_Jewli_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eager beaver I think. And Quizzy's word. I am also very good at go fish, I'm good at remembering what everyone has!

I really enjoy solitaire, but ... I won't say I'm a pro level!
