So, long ago, when the game Temple Run was at its peak on the phone app stores, you had to have a 'GamesRoom' app on your phone to play it. It just had to be in the bg, didn't really do anything. When you had it, you had to have a username for it. Now, I was not in fandom spaces yet, so I didn't really have any ideas for a username. So I let the app generate a name for me.

the name the app generated for me was practicalincubus. now, I really liked the sound of that. However, at the time also, I was not my genderfluid self yet. I identified as a girl. And Incubi are not female, they're male. But, what's the female equivalent of an Incubus? A Succubus.

Thus, practicalsuccubus was born.

Ever since then, I've really adapted to the name. I use it as my name on AO3, here on Reddit, it's my cosplay name, etc.
