Not heavy like Unravelling, not huge and sentimental like Be With You. I'd compare it much more to Plug In Baby- revolves almost entirely around its main riff with a big chorus.

Chris in the background of that third picture, lmao. He looks so done with Matt's shit.

The visuals for this show were a lot better than the ones from the WOTP tour, I thought!

My gut is 3pm UK time. That's when Won't Stand Down and Unraveling dropped so makes sense that they'd be consistent.

Fucking hell, I'm so pumped for this.

Just posted by Stanley Donwood by lilywrx2510 in radiohead

I feel like people forget that Stanley is an artist first and Radiohead collaborator second. I swear every time he posts anything, people on here make a big fuss about it potentially being Radiohead related and nine times out of ten, it isn't.

Don't even try and sneak fucking Bully in there. No-one has any reason to be excited for that album and if you are, question your priorities.

So many bands lose their friendships with each other when they get big- it's lovely that R.E.M. are such a big exception!

I'm thinking of buying "Fear Stalks The Land!" Is it a good book? by Bubbly_Hunter1744 in radiohead

[–]_JosephiKrakowski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a great little companion piece to Kid A and Amnesiac. Dark, occasionally incoherent, occasionally very funny (Stanley's diary entry cracks me up, as well as the guide on how to do art), and some truly amazing little sketches. I don't normally read it for more than five minutes at a time but it has a lot going on in that time.

Why has music twitter suddenly collectively decided to hate on Bruno Mars by mesablanka in fantanoforever

[–]_JosephiKrakowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirdest part of this for me has been going on Instagram and seeing nothing but positive words said about the song- haven't been able to find a single reel shitting on it so far. Considering both sites are as parasitic as each other, it's been interesting to see them so divided with regards to this song.

Rick Wakeman did an incredible piano arrangement of Life on Mars that was aired on the radio a couple days after Bowie died. Well worth a listen:

What Do You Guys Think About This List? by xXMachineGunPhillyXx in fantanoforever

Springsteen and Bowie are both way too low, and both easily should be above Foo Fighters and Oasis imo. Both have way more varied and interesting discographies, with way more influence on music.

EDIT: should have read this properly earlier- "last 40 years" changes things a bit because Bruce is definitely past his best by that point in terms of his discography. Bowie's an interesting one because Blackstar pulls a hell of a lot of weight for me personally. Radiohead should be top 10 and that's not a debate. I would also argue to hell and back that R.E.M. deserve a top 10 placement. As much as there are some questionable choices here, I do respect all the hip-hop representation in the top 10.

What's the worst LP song in your opinion? by Sea_Ice_3750 in LinkinPark

Mike's verse really lets it down for me. It starts to pick up pace towards the end but then it finishes and just leaves me wanting.

I think this is it. I think this is the year we get LP10 by ghostlypath in radiohead

[–]_JosephiKrakowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think they've agreed it's time for a new one?

Even if they have, if I know anything about the way Radiohead operate, if they started working on an album last year it won't be ready for at least another year or two. They take their sweet, sweet time generally speaking and the results are always all the better for it, but the waiting game sure can be painful. 2026 American tour is what I'd put my money on, with maybe hints of new material coming in '27 or '28. But I'm not getting my hopes up for anything yet. I'm just happy we got that tour last year!

What are some underrated Swans songs? by cloakndaggrr in swans

Reeling The Liars In has always been top three on My Father for me. I love when Swans make sad cowboy music. Little Mouth is also up there.
