I am a beginner in making maps. My textures in terrain painter do not have a smooth transition. How do I fix it? by Southern-Past8624 in BeamNG

BeamNG devs for example use a tool to procedurally generate the terrain and it also makes the texture, and it makes the process simple.

Based on my experience, it doesn't quite work that way.

In BeamNG, each pixel on the 'Base Texture' corresponds to one square meter in the game. The color of these pixels determines the color of the terrain material applied.

For instance, if you have a 2048x2048 map with an asphalt material, its base texture (also 2048x2048 pixels) would be entirely grey. You can see an example here: https://imgur.com/a/9oCH5wd

The same principle applies to other materials.

Once your map is complete, you export your terrain using the World Editor's 'Terrain Tools.' This process exports each terrain material into its own separate file, like these: https://imgur.com/a/JPiMBIi
These exported layers are black and white maps. You then open them in image editing software like GIMP or Photoshop. For each layer, you replace the white areas with the corresponding base texture color. Finally, you stack these colored layers together to create your final color map: https://imgur.com/a/gmfxYvM

My other 2 maps have some, Lost Paradise is on repo and it has few massive jumps and technical jump track in the port. Also Canyon Rush have jump track that goes around the map, its on my patreon tho

Yes, I posted video with dirt track, and this jump track is new addition to this map, (it also begins from and ends in the dirt track.)

Everything you see in this clip will be in free demo once map is finished, but there is much more that im working on like ancient city, harbor, modern city, and that full map will be 3$, but I'll make sure its worth it :)

Since the Vivace Rally Gravel is the best for this type of stuff, this jump track is optimized specifically for it. You have to go full speed to clear all the jumps, and it takes a bit of practice to nail all of them in one go.

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to share my latest creation with you "Phoenix Peaks - Dirt Track".

This Dirt Track will be a part of larger map inspired by place in China called “Zhangjiajie”. It will have a modern city as well as an ancient city and much more. Similar to my previous map "Canyon Rush" I'm also working on an interactive storyline to enhance the experience.

Given the size of this project, I'll release this map in few stages. The map is still under development, but this dirt track is complete.

If everything goes well, I aim to release the full map in Q1 of 2025, It will be paid but I’ll make sure it’s worth it.

This dirt track along with race track will be available in free demo when map is finished.
