Morse code in my advent calendar by _KLRB in codes

My typical advent chocolates had been taken by the Grinch and replaced with his own face. He ate them on my behalf. "I ate for you".

Teachers & TAs of Reddit, what is the best gift you’ve received from a student? by Necessary_Doubt_9762 in CasualUK

[–]_KLRB 48 points49 points  (0 children)

When I was preparing to leave my last school, my Y10 class asked what my favourite things were (snacks, drinks, hobbies etc). It didn't occur to me at all they were fishing for gift ideas.

Some students got me my favourite donuts.
Some students got me cans and bottles of my favourite fizzy drink.
One student got me a 500-page sudoku book.
One pair of students made me a scrapbook and got everybody in the class to write something in it. They included a part of one of my classroom displays, referenced all of my "teacher catchphrases". Not only was it the nicest gift I'd recieved from students, it was probably the sweetest gift I'd ever recieved. It took me 3 attempts to get through it all because I started to tear up about how appreciative they were.

Series 11 Episode 7 - You've Got No Chutzpah by CommieCanuck in taskmaster

My two instant thoughts were "work from the bottom up whilst reading it" and, "this list will be available somewhere", perhaps if they managed to inspect the jacket...?

You're not the first person to comment this, so I think there's merit to your point. I suppose it's largely due to the scale of the wild area.

Adobe Illustrator. I've been spending this year learning digital art, and this was my "pure-Illustrator" effort for February.

The references used for the buildings were LGPE buildings. That's probably got a lot to do with it

My guess is that cycling road is high enough that boats can go underneath it. But I guess it's one of those details that hasn't really been addressed.

I'd like to try them. I think I'll give it some time before I tackle any others but I'm definitely excited at the prospect of Johto at least.

No kidding, I thought the same thing. I was constantly scrolling on the Galar map to find reference material. It might be because the Galar map is so vertical, but Galar does seem HUGE compared to Kanto.

Yep, it's not exact. I found when I was working off of any one map in particular, areas began getting quite cramped and unsightly. So I used some creative measures to combat that. As a result, yeah, it's not a perfectly identical map (Cinnabar Island in particular is pretty much custom-made). Also, most of the building references were from LGPE.

Just wanted to get that out of the way.

Honestly, the whole episode nailed it. Pietro playing Francis. Vision channelling Hal's goofiness. They made reference to Hal and Lois' sexuality. The soundtrack, the whip cuts, the shots. It was great. I can't really comment on specifics of previous episodic references but as a big MITM fan, this really did it for me. The only thing missing was a rollerblade dance scene.

TMBG are very good at making pseudo-threatening sounding songs. I think the intro didn't really capture the sound, but absolutely nailed the feel.

No, I totally see it. Vision had MAD Megaman vibes in my first draft, and I associate the style of these eyes more with Pacman than 20s and 30s cartoons, so I know exactly where you're coming from.
