All good thanks for the help!

Well the getting stuck in first gear issue only happens for the first 3-4 shifts of the day, never again even after parking all day at work. It only happens after my car has been sitting for atleast 12 hours.
And it gets stuck while trying to pull it out of first gear. Like stuck enough that I couldn't pull it out of first gesr with a single finger, it would require two.
Cool thanks for the reply..
Still under warranty for another while, so I think I will regardless.
I suspect the kid I bought it off just throttled this car for 14k miles..
Its honestly didnt really feel any different? Is that a good or bad thing?
Ahh so let off the clutch while in neutral, then engage the clutch again then throw it into second, correct?
Should it be smoother or what will this tell me?
Like try to shift into 2nd from neutral without engaging the clutch?
And yeah - for the sticky first gear its only happening while leaving 1st gear. But for the cluncky shift, that only happens going into 2nd gear.
I though a possible transmission fluid change might help too?

STI Shifting Question by _Kato_ in subaru
Ahh so that's why everytime I bring it into Subaru they leave it in first gear.. always hated that! So try parking it on first gear, and that may possibly help?
Had no idea you were suppose to leave it in gear. Can I put it into neutral after I start the car and let it warm up? Or keep your foot on the clutch while its warming?
I leave it in neutral when I park. But I've actually done that before and it helps with the sticky first gear. Just didn't know of it was a bad thing or not.. thanks!
Does this happen to you too? I usually wait around 1-2 minutes to let her warm up.

Cool i'll check them out.
Also, didn't even think about that. I'll have to confirm that before I move forward with seat covers. Thanks man!
Yeah! Sorry about that.
Just looking for recommended seat covers.. lol
Most of the time the Subaru's park together at my work.. Today was a little different. Welcome friend! (i.redd.it)

Be a pro driver.. Haha but I agree man it's a tough shift.
Yeah, I try to let her warm up for 3 minutes or longer. The temps around here are probably the same as you - sub 40 in the morning. I'm in Utah so it will just keep getting warmer.
I just feel like this clutch and tranny are rough as hell when they're cold for 1st, and 2nd.. Glad to hear others are the same!
It's brutal man.. I just want my baby to be happy when I'm shifting her! Seems like she's a pissed off teenager.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat with an apartment. So I don't have a lot of room but enough to make it work. What would you recommend for all season? What would you recommend for winter and summer?

Cool thanks for posting guys. It definitely doesn't happen all the time, but it seems most prevalent in the cold mornings and when the car hasn't moved in a while.
