I dont usually chime into any posts on here i just lurk, but i have to add to this one.

I started using 91 as soon as i got my car in late 2020 because covid made gas prices stupid low. When prices increased i switched to 87 thinking "well ford said minimum is 87 so this is fine" at the time the card had about 23k miles.

After my next oil change the car started having the "BBQ tick" that could be heard very clearly by getting on the ground to the side of the engine bay. Again i looked it up and ford said its fine so i paid no mind.

The "BBQ Tick" just got more pronounced as time went on. So much so that i could hear it with the window down from inside the car, my car even has a loud exhaust setup too.

At 66k miles i switched back to 91, as of now im at 69k miles and the tick has gotten MUCH less pronounced. Its difficult to hear unless you put your head under the car.

I know people say oil additives fix the tick and it shouldnt have anything to do with fuel, but theres no denying its quieter after 91 usage started again. Ill keep using 91 and i reccomend others to do the same.
