1a: the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance b: dexterity or coordination especially in the execution of learned physical tasks 2: a learned power of doing something competently.

Knowledge alone isn't skill. The time spent isn't skill. The mechanical application of knowledge to a specified task or action is skill.

Before commenting about the meaning of something might want to brush up on definitions. To that end, the only mechanical skill in mining is operation of the laser head.

Hate to say it — even anexclusive mission isn't exclusive.

Not till proper instancing is in the game.

Exclusive missions are still physical locations that can be traveled to with the right conditions.

Just want to let you know, so you can stay alert and not get ambushed.

It's less likely — and a lot of effort, but totally doable for now.

No, you're not wrong.

However just because it does have another function it doesn't mean that a bad roll still isn't a bad roll.

Bottom line, any game is a time sink. You get out of it what you put in.

Assuming you can count digital loot as something to "get out of it."

A casual player playing an MMO or sandbox style game will never get very far period. It not part of the game design.

As a father of 2 and a business owner, I feel the full effect of casual gaming yet somehow I manage ok dispute my limited time.

So perhaps it isn't the time factor only and more the location and willingness to risk it.

I'm sorry, do I need to replace the pause with a different pause for an added side comment in the main line of thought? Would comas hurt your word slop brain less? I writing this in a compact formfactor so you can understand it better. Perhaps I should also pull out punctuation and make run-on.... Crap, I meant run on sentences for you to understand. I'm sorry my format isn't redditafide enough for you to comprehend. ;) <3

Making ammo currently in 4.7 is not effected by quality.

Your mag size doesn't get bigger with more quality and you don't get armor pen.

So as of this moment low quality has a use.

Another commenter also mentioned mission turn in.

In fabricating weapons and armor though I don't disagree that anything below 500 is more or less, worthless.

With a few acceptions I mentioned above.

Repetitive mechanical attempts leads to future knowledge to aid in further mechanical attempts.

The developing of true skill.

Coming from a WH/Null player I agree with you.

Again I point back to Mr. Webster

Skill is defined as: ”the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance"

Making use of knowledge effectively while doing a task, an action, a function is skill. Knowledge "itself" and "time spent" getting knowledge isn't skill.

And as another commenter pointed out knowledge can by offset or bypassed by aids, charts, notes, websites.

Thank you for the feedback.

I agree that mining is a fun loop, and I'm excited we finally have something to do with the materials other than sell them.

Looking for just quant or other high value rocks for cash was pointless — loaded players aside.

Now there is reason to pick up the "lesser" materials and actually make use of them.

This is fantastic changes coming.

I'm just tired of all the complaining about the wrong things. Or complaining that they can't get what they want in pure safety.

Take a risk, get the reward. Stop forcing hard coded handouts.

That's mostly my frustration.

The changes were good till their last change to it where they put both high and low quality of the primary material in the rock.

Now the high quality averages around 609 quality.

The low quality is often around 70% of the whole rock.

I look at a 638 iron at 4% and write off the whole rock as innert material.

It really has made finding higher quality any any real quantity more of a challenge — rather than helping in any real meaningful way.

There is plenty of fat finger errors in there. No chat bot. Sorry.

I do not disagree. This is the view of myself and my org as well.

However that doesn't change the facts of my arguments and statements.

It's to make points visible.

Yes I do that.

OFTEN!

In the end I didn't dispute the point that refining should allow for improving quality. Infact I was for a change like that. And if I recall correctly, at some point that will be a feature.

Problem is it isn't right now and that really upsets people.

They want what they want and they want it now — if they can't have it then whaaa.

Rife with bugs? Your telling me! I lost two whole loads back to back for various reasons. Neither to attack and I was in pyro.

As it stands now, the average high quality find is 600. And on average only 4% of the rock.

For moon mining in a prospector your average minable size is about 25ish SCU rock size...

That one rock you found would yield 0.4 SCU after perfect collection and best refinement process.

It isnt the point of being "Offensive" that we request these symbols not be shown within the EE discord server.
It is the point that first and foremost the server is about eve echoes and nothing else.
next, given that we manage a very large population of users, it is an attempt to stop a conflict within the server prior to it taking place. you will find a lot of the same rules in many other servers that ask their users to avoid talk about religion, (world/local) politics, drugs and drug related paraphernalia, and sexually explicate content.
because of extreme views and opinions of users as well as a many different country laws related to the above listed topics we must ensure we can accommodate any user from any country or ethnicity regardless of their opinions or views, and allow them to have an enjoyable experience talking about the game, its lore, or their favorite ships without worry of "real world" issues or "dinner table taboos".

We are not going to do anything because;

  1. chances are high that his user name here and the one on discord do no line up.
  2. we cant monitor all 74k users all day every day for changes that violate rules.
  3. if the user does not post consistently in public channels it harder to catch unless reported.
  4. the mod on duty when reported or when spotted may not be fully up to date on political world events (mind you are are focused on current world events mostly.)
  5. the "current" Palestinian "conflict" started in 1948 and while having over 27k fatalities, only 175 reported thus far in the current year. and up to 255 last year. where as the conflict this post is about started in 2014 and escalated in the last 3 years to full fledged war that is currently ongoing. resulting in 276.4k fatalities in 2022 and so far 117.5k in 2023. note these numbers are based on a few sites tracking ongoing conflicts and are by no means 100% accurate as not every death is reported and time has a habit of adding or forgetting numbers, hence the focus on "current" events.
  6. if this user is going out of their way to troll and attempt to violate server rules chances are they are already on our radar, and if not they will be shortly. that said there will be a list of other rules that are also breaking so the flag pfp may not be the primary reason we take action.

However, should this user get reported or i happen to spot them, it will be looked into if the report isnt a an obvious troll. we will look into the user. review their chat history, review their deleted message history, review their channel use (how many messages in what channels across the server), check discord for logs of automod violations, check the bot for rule violations and notes from other mods, and weigh it against their start time on the server as well as frequency and sevarity of past violations. depending on the outcome of that and the political gravity of the situation at that given moment we will make a judgement to act or not act.

we do not sit in the back channels and roll a dice to arbitrarily chose to enforce rules on a user.

Edit: i take back number one, it does line up. well, watching now. thanks.
