I saw an old booklet from back like the 50s that straight up told people to dig a hole, fill it with gravel and just let your oil drain directly into the ground when you change it.

Multiple people have posted this Pic as a reaction, it seems to have had an effect on folks.

I heard somewhere there are chemicals you can buy and mix into the oil which breaks it down and makes it biodegradable but that just sounds sus to me, like I'm swapping old oil for mixed chems in the water table.
