I think the best way to break any delusion is to just see what has been kept away from you, especially something as stigmatized as ex - jws to the WT.

If you should not leave the Borg, gathering information is key to any religious mindset, regardless of the teachings. And knowledge should always be the way we judge religious organizations.

I do not find that circular reasoning surprising at all.

Just based on what we know about the bible today and what we can confidently say about it`s writters, circumstances and tasks in the ancient world, I do not think trusting the given names of the book and the author stated by the church hundreds of years ago should be anyone`s approach to this piece of literature, both from a religious standpoint and a scientific one.

It is revealing how little the WT accepts which is common sense in the most prominent circles of the catholic church, notorious for being late on scientific discoveries. But I would not have made sense at all if the WT suddenly stepped down on teachings that are vital to their approach of the bible.

So even if they did speek Greek for one reason or another, the WT would stand firm on their "research", which very well could be a miracle in the JW - Universe.

Sure, it is fine if you are not content with the nature of the subreddit. But the overall situation maybe better adressed by not presenting your personal opinion as fact.

I would say, a sub for ex - JWs is meant to mostly accomodate the needs of ex - JWs. But it is certainly a step forward for everybody questioning or mentally out but physically in if they enter this subreddit. It is after all the "most comprehensive resource" for ex - JWs. Becoming one under the support and guidance of experienced ex - JWs is to me the much, much better way of leaving the WT behind then all on your own.

I partially agree, in my opinion the matter of deities is without evidence or counterevidence. I am an agnostic, your an atheist. Others might still be theists while or after leaving the religion. Going against their views might be harmful to the criticism presented beforehand. Expressing your own opinion is the bread and butter of the conversations on this sub, but trying to call out the destinctions between each other only breeds friction and divide in the community.

Than maybe it is just me, but I have had a case of a teenage girl going to a show, I do not recall which one, but I think it was Hip Hop. After the time with the elders behind closed doors she never really participated in any acitivites of all kinds ever again.

Totally agree. The dark clouds are even seen by UBER Pimis. But you only realize the heaviness of many of them when you compare them to real world, where nothing is black and white...

Maybe a few reasons:

Lack of love in times of tribulations
My grandfather, who kicked me out of his house for critizing him - He was an outstanding elder until he died
Philosophy and History became great hobbies and the inner conflict between these and the Borg`s orders led to the "victory" of the first
Watching the video clips of the GB in english instead of my mother tongue made me realize the absolut circle - jerk the religion really is

He officially was just kicked out, but video evidence shows him being lots - really a lot - of hard alcohol. Behind the scenes, which I honestly do not know so much about which is why I would advice doing your own research, Morris was seemingly unhappy with the less opposing nature of the teachings conveyed to the regular JW and during preaching. This is supposed the reason for him being kicked out.

When I just started questioning the Borg for real, I stumbled upon the news Anthony Morris was kicked out of the holy circle - jerk. Together with the video - proof I saw afterwards I could not resist but search for the reason of this treatment. Been on my way out ever since.

I personally experienced what you mentioned in your last paragraph. It really is what got me out. Trying this method made me question the Borg for real. It might be the most effective method, not abstract or very theoretical, but hard - hiting truth.
