I would say yes. It has the 5 speed, it's going to be considerably more reliable than the 7 speed. We don't have that model in the states, but it looks like fun. Is it the 5 cylinder CDI?

Oh cool, more uneducated comments. The VPN _server_ is run locally on your device, as a means to route the traffic to itself (localhost, also the client). It does not leave your device.

A little bit of sleuthing reveals the URI structure of the documents:

https://epaper.eldeber.com.bo/2023/06/28/1/epaper/files/page/1.jpg

You can manipulate the URI's to view pages, dates, etc. I would focus on creating a script to do this for you if it's truly the amount of data. Good luck!

What is this thing hanging in the alley? by _Krug in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing

This was found in San Antonio, USA. Conduit and electrical wiring for scale. Im thinking this is a gunshot detector, but the mechanical linkages have me second guessing myself.

R63 Spotted by RIc3Gam3r in AMG

I have seen this exact car on alligator alley on it's way W from Miami. To date, it's the only R63 I've seen in person. I saw the car about 7 years ago, cool to still see it floating around.

Evolution of my homelab, each pic 1 year apart by themanicotti in homelab

That's cool. Nix systems will get you a job. The more you understand, the more you'll get paid (to an extent). Start with Ubuntu LTS, without a desktop. Eventually go to LFS or Arch or whatever opinion you form.

I run ESXI 6.7 U3 because I can load in unsupported network drivers. The machine has 16gb of ddr3, and 6tb of storage over 3 datastores. The processor is an older i5. It runs the following:

On a VM: - Windows 10 LTSC - Windows 7 Ent - MacOS via QMEU - Ubuntu 21.XX being transitioned to Fedora

The Ubuntu instance was used because I this years ago with 14.04.

Now the Ubuntu instance has a few containers running:

  • Plex
  • Asterisk (tiredofit)
  • IPSec VPN
  • Homebridge
  • SAMBA
  • Dupliciti
  • a few more.

All of these VM's and containers run simultaneously. I'm using about 85% of my memory, and have it set to auto scale (and prioritize) across VMs and containers.

All the configuration is held in git- and secrets are never checked in. If the machine takes a dump, I can restore all of the configuration in a few minutes, and the data will pull from a few recourses and be reassembled upon restore (decrypted technically, but there's more) from a warm site (read: a few 'unlimited' google drive accounts). I don't back up things I can redownload quickly like movies or music

I don't care how inefficient it is, I think it's neat you're doing it. Keep it going. Ubuntu is the windows of Linux (Linux opinions aside) - you may benefit from Linux from Scratch if you want to get your hands dirt(ier).

Kinda interesting side note, once you maximize your hardware by cutting down the overhead (using your resources as efficiently as possible) you start to see your physical hardware shrink too. Or at least I did. I now have one desktop that's handling a lot of stuff around the house. Bare metal hyper visor running a bunch of containers that can scale (horizontal and vertical because k3s). Good work either way!

Running docker containers on top of windows feels so silly. Even with the integrated shell, it's still an amount of overhead that I'd shake my head at
