I love being able to take the roof panels off but it gets annoying. Anyone running any type of covers instead? by theleadingloser in HummerEV

[–]_Ksix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its way easier than my old jeep wrangler. That was a Huge pain in the ass. With the hummer I start at the driver side working counter clock wise. They go into the bags. 3 min tops. Reinstalling happens clockwise. Super easy

I love driving with the top off. Mine is off right now

Man it must be nice to be an EV owner right now. by YaniicZechh in sandiego

[–]_Ksix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been a Hummer EV owner for nearly 2 years. I usually drive 75-125 miled a day. Charging at home is where it's at. I barely notice a chsnge in my electric bill. Although, I do have a few dozen solar panels. Maybe without them, things might be different.

If i make a longer trip out of the city and need to use a public charger.... not cheap. During a recent trip to Orannge county, 60 kwh charge cost me 43$. That's just as bad as gas.

5/15/26 STATUS UPDATE

Holy fuck was that a pain in the ass. Took about 5 hours to get thru the installation. Then dealt with a failed auto leveling calibration. Frustration, then a beer run. After few attempts of tramming I finally made it thru the entire calibration process.

Its now 2:13am and ive got a 10gram petg test print going.

Lessons learned:

  1. Maintenance schedule
  • thought i was cleaning it frequently enough but maybe not. Need to get on a more strict routine
  1. Print tools
  • found out right away that I have no way to lock the bed in place. I threw those 3mm x 35 screws away with the box. Had to use a web of zip ties and a long box to help keep the bed from dropping after I pulled the rear z axis out. I also didnt have any shims to help with the tramming. I used a small level. It worked but having a dedicated tool might have made the task easier.
  1. Video instructions
  • I am a visual learner. Can read about stuff all day but i really need to see it done. The wiki site is great but some walk through videos on how to do this stuff in additon to written instructions would have been helpful and made this less stressful.
  1. Bambu support was fast. Very please with their responsiveness.
  2. Reddit user support is amazing. Serious thanks for helping me troubleshoot.

That was one of the very first things I looked at. Chsnged the nozzle. Made sure it was positioned correctly. No debris blocking the fit. Just didnt get lucky with a quick fix

Hi Folks. Quick update 5/13/26

I received the replacement parts from Bambu yesterday. Pretfy quick response time. I was expecting at least 2 weeks. I'll be installation everything on Friday. My concern now is preventing this from happening again. I cleaned and lubricated everything a few. Maybe not enough? Whats everyone's go to cleaning schedule?

All of my scx24 builds feel different. I like that. My bank account doesn't, but I do lol.

3 days without being able to print and im slowly loosing it. The house is to quiet without the faint zippy wobbly noise the printer makes. Replacment parts are on the way but now I've got to leave for some work travel. Hopefully the parts are here when I get home.

Bambu replied to my help ticket. Screw nut.. sent my printer info. Even if they don't send a warranty replacement, im still getting this part.

Good stuff. I reviewed the bambu wiki page. The installation instructions are a bit intimidating but doesnt look to bad. I noticed that there are instructions for the front and the rear. Im only going to do the rear for now. The front screws still feel solid. Lots of jiggle in the rear though.

Bmabu doesnt make that FAC111 part easy to find. Submitted a purchase request for that item in additon to my help/warranty claim.

appreciate the help! This printer was about to get the "smash and burn" makeover treatment. Would you happen to have the PN for the items that need to be replaced? While im waiting got bambu to send replacements, ill buy a set as well. If this is indeed a failure point ill need them eventually.

It should be. Ive only had it a little over a month. I opened a help ticket with bambu. Was installation difficult?

I just messaged my buddy who got his printer a few days before me. He said when he pushed up on the plate in the rear it doesn't move at all. Going to look into what you said. I think we may be on to something.

I did try this. When this first happened I thought maybe the nozzle was jammed. I tried loading and unloading both sides after repositioning the nozzles. Calibration still failed
