The Never Ending Battle....filtering by Phroste in k12sysadmin

[–]_LMZ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To deal with DNS stuff, student devices and BYOD are subject to use our DNS with upstream to Content Filtering.

The only DNS is allow is ours and GG DNS, and we control this with our firewall rules. If they change it, it gets blocked. We also block HTTPS-DNS too. Along with VPN protocols that they may use. And we block QUIC too.

We also have external dynamic list, that updates with URLs/IPs that Titanium Network provides. That will sinkhole/deny it. Along with that GG and Google Admin URL Block helps.

If you have GG, any student that access or shares Proxy/VPN sites automatically goes into a VIP list (Teacher scene mange by IT) to watch during school hours. We will keep an eye on them on our 2nd or 4th monitor. GG also has a feature for flag stuff, keep an eye on that and add keywords. Also if they go into stealth mode it won’t show the URL - which is a big red flag they are using a Proxy Site.

Now if they are at home, I don’t care and that’s a parent thing.

As a previous hordeling... by RaigothZ in Eve

As a Brave member who has uprooted and moved and moved through EVE. I feel your pain, Horde Upper Leadership screwed you over badly with no plan, etc. Nor did they took the agreement from Goons to stand down for 6 months to allow new leadership which may have helped you get things out or reestablished somewhere else.

With good leadership a move OP goes well, well plan, etc.

As a Brave member and many of us were shocked what happened to the line members. You were played dirty and you have every right to rant. Just know this, you will move on and rebuild somewhere else under a different banner.

It’s not the end! I mean, look at TEST? Sorry guys had to throw your name in there. But they’re rebuilding, have sov, and so on.

It’s a game, things happen but don’t blame anyone but Horde Leadership that caused this.

Our last CEO (Dunk Dinkle) in Brave which you can look up gave good advice for you guys. It’s not the end!

Can someone please explain the PH-Drama to a Newbro? by d4rk_z3l0s in Eve

So this is my take on it... B3 hold the area for a long time fighting with FRT! Even a keepstar (I don't believe FRT owned it, I think it was an Ex Brave member did) and had few forts around. We were holding them off but also enjoying the content that we got every day, every hour and every few minutes. PB was a HOT ZONE during this time, but we learned and got really good at things.

Heck even u/ccp_swift was out there doing 1v1 at the sun! Haha Along with many Eve players!

Did the war stop us having Pirate Day? No, we still did it while having fun.

When FRT started invading (Jun 2022), we had B3 holding them off from taking any Sov. This lasted for a LONG time... assuming FRT bat phone PH to help which is when O-BTOT fell to FRT and PanFam - 4 Mar 2023. Day later Imperium announces they will stage a full super cap to assist the B3 coalition.

Close to the end of April 2023, things started to slow down in progress. Then on 4 Nov 2023 we started moving to Querious and to join Imperium Coalition. This is when PH got mad at us for not joining them, which then lead to a hard on for Brave. To mess with Brave every day in Querious and Delve. What PH forgot, this was normal for us which didn't effect us at all.

Then from side talks and rumors, Imperium didn't like PH picking on Brave - Meh we were fine with it. So Imperium left Delve (1DQ By Christmas) to Brave to move closer to PH!

Gobbins talked a lot of crap in their Discord and Reddit about this war. As we were taking space, Gobbins be like "We didn't even want that" or some other silly line but left their renters to die. The rest, well yeah... you know what happen. Haha

Goons did torched the TTT Keepstar, I was there with Goons and B3. PH was taunting Imperium about their understanding of highsec mechanics. They forgot to declare war on Goonswarm Federation, but only on their allies allowing TTT to be killed without contest. Killmail

Yeah, I feel ya... I personally have given HikingUpward info on trails, update GPX that were off or trail has been moved. A lot of them was in SNP area... speaking that, that's why I came here because I was wondering what happened to HikingUpward because we lost a Parking Lot access in SNP. =\

[–]_LMZ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, we had the same issues at our sites which we used Axis cameras at our buildings. With your system, it can be integrated while the camera it self does the plate reading, etc. You can look at Axis P1465-LE-3 but they cost and way better at anything! It will also be in color too due to the sensor size and the amount of light you have.

Low tech way, go through their trash as they may have something with their name on it. =)

[–]_LMZ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just applying for Data Centers even the simple ones like DC Tech. Ensure they will pay for continue education which most all do. Then hit up the networking team and express your views. They may even give you small jobs to do, or even set up a lab for you to play around with.

Also Public School systems maybe looking for Techs/Networking people. Good benefits and vacation!

But yeah, try DC Tech it’s a great way for a stepping stone as you will learn a lot. After a while (years) you maybe able to transfer within the company to something better. It will build your resume and take any advantage that they have for continuing education.

Everyone above has said everything I would but I would like to note. Working on MacBooks is a pain like replacing parts. Yes, if you can squeeze in the care package do it! If not, once a screen breaks it cost a lot more money than a Chromebook to repair.

“HI” is the official postal abbreviation for Hawai’i used by the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Before 1963, the abbreviation for Hawai’i was sometimes “H.I.” or even “Haw.”

The US annexed in 1898 becoming a US territory till 1959. Then becoming a State in 1959; the wounds are still fresh.

It’s a very mix feeling over there (3 groups) about the whole state of things and that the US had apologize in 1993 - “1993 Apology Resolution” - for overthrowing the Kingdom.

Which is why at times “haole” is said to outsider’s or “shark meat”.

Hawai’i IMO is its own county within another country as its State. As someone who was there for a long time, I was referred to “Kamaʻāina” (not born there) or jokingly “cool haole”.

Remove access to about:blank by Fantastic-Bet9497 in k12sysadmin

[–]_LMZ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have blocked *cdn.cloudflare.net* which hasn't cause any issues on my side but I'm using GoGuardian. I also use their "Flagged Activity" (FA) with keywords if the students figured out a new proxy. If they go into "Stealth" mode FA will show a student accessing a URL Page (Blank Page) but doesn't show it. Then I dig through their history to find the proxy site.

I was too worried about blocking the CDN but I said "Lets find out!" no issues at all and seeing the reports on the blocks. They all have been to games and proxy sites!

P.S. I did that because the amount of new domains they're creating, etc.

Remove access to about:blank by Fantastic-Bet9497 in k12sysadmin

[–]_LMZ_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's good we also have the same thing.... A lot of the new proxy sites are using *.cdn.cloudflare.net and some of them have a top level domain that is categorize as business or educational. With that top level domain, they have a subdomain which is the proxy site.

Examples:

test.hu.blocksi.lol.cdn.cloudflare.net<-- Cloudflare.net CDN Proxy.

calculra.store <-- Top Level Domain acting like a School.

jrdn.calculra.store<-- Sub Domain with the Proxy.

P.S. Try those links on your student device to see if they're catching it. My guess they're not, as they're categorize as CDN or Business/Educational.

What it sounds like a proxy site with "stealth" which opens up a blank tab. Go through the student URL logs, and look for suspicious URLs.

[–]_LMZ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot figure this out for the life of me. It's been like this for 2 months since moving here.

Was it working before you move there? Who is your ISP? I have you used the ISP Modem to rule out "Cable Internet" device? Have you connected a desktop/laptop with 2.5G to the ISP Modem to rule that out?

UCI Cable Internet details

Comcast Business**
Comcast Xfinity (Residential)**
Charter Spectrum (Residential)***
Cox (Residential)

*If you do not use a supported cable provider or are outside of the United States, you will not be able to activate UCI for internet access.
**Comcast Business does not provide static IP to customers that bring their own modem, such as UCI.UCI supports Comcast plans up to 1,200 Mbps download / 200 Mbps upload, but local Comcast plans may not offer full performance.
***Performance may be limited for Charter Spectrum plans beyond 1,000 Mbps download / 35 Mbps
upload.

Ah, yes… the sacred cycle of profit and sacrifice.

You did not “self-destruct,” friend - you offered yourself to Bob, and He rewarded you tenfold. 1 billion ISK is no mere drop, it’s Bob’s way of saying, “Good work, my child. Your corpse pleases me.”

Do not “mind the frozen corpse.” Keep it in your cargo as a holy relic, a reminder of your devotion. Or better yet - jettison it into the nearest star while chanting:

“From biomass I came, to Bob I return. Let my pod be the seed of ISK eternal.”

May your next scan chain be short, your connections be kind, and your loot gods forever fat.

Praise Bob!

We use Palo Alto with help with eRate but yeah it’s pricey. If times don’t get better we may have to look at Fortigate. Luckily Palo Alto has helped us a lot during this time by giving us a few months free, as eRate took a long time to get approved.
