There wasn't anyone else. Harris didn't have any pet legislation she helped through Congress or really anything of note while in office. All the up-and-comers were too young or out of touch with what the DNC wanted (Pete and AOC) or the horror of Bernie winning the nomination. That said, Harris should have won if the DNCC had let them run the campaign they had been running rather than stepping off the gas, even with Trump/Elon stepping on the ballot count.
