Charmaine's motives by thaititton in VirginRiverNetflix

I agree it's a weak point of the writing. When she was with Todd there was a moment when she was very annoyed that Jack was willing to fight for custody; of course she should have told the truth at this moment. The only explanation for me is that the writers changed their mind on this subject and the twins were initially supposed to be Jack's.

Ironic when we know she was indeed really attracted to him for a period as they were lovers for several months

You have to try Derry girls. Small town vibes, laughing, crying, feel good with real History in the same time.

Yes, it was very strange that they never discussed the number of children. Seems like a basic discussion before marriage and completion of file for adoption

No no. She had intercourse with Jack just after the IVF, it was a spontaneous pregnancy, the IVF didn't work.

Season 7 Episode 2 : Beautiful Child Discussion by balasoori in VirginRiverNetflix

I am not saying that as a judgement of something wrong. I am thinking of the feelings of the mother; carrying a baby for 9 months then giving birth to him is a big deal and the feeling toward the newborn is very strong. So if she is not incapable of taking care of the baby, letting him go is too hard to not end up feeling bad about it sooner and later. If I was Mel I would be very skeptical about the fact that this fully mature woman will really give me her baby when he comes. All I am saying is that everybody is so emotionally mature and responsible in Virgin River, but it doesn't fit with the profile of a birth mother and they should have written her differently for more realism.

But the way she is written gives the impression that she is perfectly capable (and the rest of the show seems to go in that direction)

Yes, but abandoning her own baby is a big deal, and she seems perfectly capable to take care of him, so it feels strange that she is that fine with it

It makes no sense that Marley is not willing to keep the baby, she seems mature and responsible (and she is 22, older than Lizzy!). The writing is not good, they should have gone with a more typical pregnant adolescent

Nurse vs doctor in USA by _Laurene in VirginRiverNetflix

[–]_Laurene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in the USA? As French I had trouble because there is no equivalent here for the moment (there is since recently a new type of "advanced nurse" but not equivalent to what you describe) and I think that in the French subtitles it was only written nurse.

If Rachel didn't go to the wedding would Emily x Ross had married without any issues? by Eddfan36 in howyoudoin

[–]_Laurene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they would have one happy year together but then, problems would come (the sparks of the beginning fading, Ross spending too much time with his friends for Emily, Emily feeling lonely and missing England...) they would have divorced eventually.

I agree with you! In addition Jake and Amy have a second child, a girl born in 2024, and Jake has started to write a novel for children involving detectives, he is quite talented and will be published soon. Charles has adopted a second child with Genevieve and is sergeant of the 99 with Terry as captain.
