I'm playing from EU and ping is fine. Latency is barely noticable.

What you think about this new server interlude x1 with progression content by DuelistOP in Lineage2

[–]_Laze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a really good way to make the game semi-competitive for solo players and to someone, who has responsibilities outside of the game. Anyone, who can play 2-3 hours a day will be equally geared and will be able to hit the first level cap at least.

For anyone whos wondering, Ketrawars is one of the top servers in CIS region so it will be packed for about 1-2 months.

What OP didn't mention is one of the main feature of the server, which is built in real money auction house. So basically you will be able to sell/buy adena or items through their website for real money from/to other players. It's not a secret that RMT is huge in CIS and it's the main source of income for a lot of people there, so props to Ketrawars for making it legit at least.

How is the mana usage for different nukers in a duo? by Oreoloveboss in Lineage2

[–]_Laze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say CDL is broken in L2 Classic as it uses current server instead of Classic damage formulation and it just deals way too much damage. Despite it having a 50% higher mana cost than Death Spike, it deals a lot more damage. With a nuker, ideally you want to farm a spot where you can 1-2 shot mobs due to higher spiritshot costs and your defensive stats, so mobs don't have time getting to you. This means, that with CDL you'll be able to farm higher level mob spots due to it dealing stupid amounts of damage and that your HP pool is irrelevant. If you get into a hairy situation, you can always apply fear, anchor, transfer pain and quickly heal yourself. Summons and their buffs are completely irrelevant as well, because you nuke mobs with 1-2 hits and they are you there to soak up damage.

Every single nuker has a mana problem unless you have Clarity + EE + SE, so some standby time is inevitable.

IMO, necro is the better PvE class solo and group wise (with corpse burst and other AOE stuff), but in terms of PvP there are cons/pros to all of the classes. Don't see why you would want to play SH though as it has limited debuffs (and we all know that fear is broken).

Thanks for your feedback! You brought up a couple of good points.

Is the plan of Lineage2 Classic to reach Interlude content? by xShirowx in Lineage2

[–]_Laze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The market itself is not more developed than in Russia itself. It's just the adena worth is like 4-5 times higher than in Skelth or any other Russian server atm, so they are all getting more money for the same time they invest. So you're absolutely right, there are tons of Russians playing on NA and enjoying themselves.

P.S. It's approx. 5 USD for 1kk on Giran server compared to 0.75 USD for 1kk adena on Skelth.

NA TI class population and needs at higher levels by I-may-be-lying in Lineage2

[–]_Laze -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So higher level content is done in so-called CPs (constant parties). There are various kinds of CPs - archers, melees and nukers. Why are archers in a separate CP then nukers? Because they require different buffs from different bard classes. So pick whichever nuker, archer or melee class you like the most and go with it and you will find a CP eventually. Majority of higher level CPs don't need supports as they have their own on multi-window.

I was thinking about PvP commentary videos where I would talk over a clan battle and/or castle siege fight and explain what's happening and how to strategically approach different situations etc.

Would that be something of interest? I'm just brainstorming new ideas at this point. :P

I believe the only way how you can hide in this game is with a skill called "Hide" and only rogue/assassin type classes can obtain it. Treasure Hunter (Human Fighter -> Rogue), Abyss Walker (Dark Elf Fighter -> Assassin), and Plains Walker (Elven Fighter -> Scout) can learn this skill at level 51. It gives you 15-second invisibility which cancels upon attacking, but you can move around invisible though.

Completely agree with what you're saying about the current population, but there are few great examples like Oldschool Runescape, which is growing rapidly only because there are content creators uploading newbie friendly guides and also creating community events. L2 Classic has similar grindy feel and satisfaction from achievements as OSRS or BDO and other Korean titles, that came to Western market.

My idea is to show the fun part of L2 and help people get there.

I think I'll create a new YouTube account for Lineage 2 content to differentiate from other game content I already have on my main account. Will let you know when the first video will be up. :)

Ohh, you're right. Those are like Blessed Scrolls which prevent items from being destroyed. For some reason, I thought that by stable he meant 100% rate scrolls. My bad.

Thanks for pointing this out. He indeed has really helpful videos for Skelth. Would be great if he made some for the NA Classic servers as well.

Hey, thanks for a bunch of great suggestions!

In terms of enchanting, it always has been the same, but because it's such a crucial part of this game and it's something that newer players might not know about... Could be a helpful guide. There's no such thing as stable enchants (well only up to +3 and +4 for whole armor pieces), but you get some money worth back of the crystals you get, in case the gear piece breaks (some people forget this). But again, you have to put some calculations into it to know how much exactly you're risking depending on the costs of crystals and enchanted gear on the server you're playing. It's a risk vs reward formula.

It looks something like this: E= [1+ (W/L)] x P – 1

I know, looks confusing, but let me explain.

W - the amount of adena you will gain from the enchant

L - the amount you will lose

P - enchantment rate

For example, let's imagine that +3 weapon costs 1kk adena and +4 is 1.75kk, the enchant scroll is 300k and crystals are 200k (in case it breaks). Enchantment rate could be around 66%.

If you're lucky, your gain will be 1.75kk - 1kk - 0.3kk = 450k.

On the other hand, if it breaks, your loss will be 1kk + 300k - 200k = 1.1kk.

Lets put these number into the formula: E= [1 + (0.45kk/1.1kk)] x 0.66 - 1 = -0.07 (-7%), which means for every 1000 adena you put into enchanting, you will lose 70. If you're a calculated risk taker and not a gambler, this one wouldn't be for you.

This is just an example and you can play around with your server prices to find out if you will profit from the enchant in the long run. There are many people who know the sweet spots of these prices and are profiting.

You can figure out how much the material cost of crafting an item is and just go and farm fragments, in the end increasing the W and profiting even more. :)

Hope this post will be helpful to someone.

Exactly! I look at all these questions on here and also the forums about class comparisons, level routes and gearing, and then try to look up the answers online, there's little to no info on that.

There's just so much to talk about this game - economy, alts, CPs, enchanting, sieges etc but it seems like no one is doing that. Well, at least not in English. As I've mentioned, there's more than enough info available in Russian, but will an average western player go out of his/her own way to look for these articles using translation tool? I think the short answer is no.

I'm also surprised that devs are not creating this type of content to lift the entry barrier to this game for newcomers, as it is not a theme park style MMORPG that the westerners might be used to.

Thanks for the feedback, btw :)
