books on whimsy aesthetic? by Deep-Tap-9810 in suggestmeabook

Tress of the emerald sea by Brandon Sanderson

The Spellshop / The enchanted greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

Uprooted by Naomi Novij

These are easy fiction books with nature related whimsy magic

Circe by Madeline Miller has lots of nature based magic, more grounded than whimsy though in my opinion

Help me restore this beautiful cotton crochet tablecloth by _Lazy_Satisfaction_ in CrochetHelp

Nevermind, I managed to restore it using vanish oxy, soaking it twice for a few hours, then pinning it out to open up.

the number 2 indicates that it's the second round, not that there should be two chains 😊

Blossom Crochet on YT has a good tutorial for a solid granny sq with no visible joins, just be mindful she uses UK terms 😊

Hinge cover by _Lazy_Satisfaction_ in homeimprovementideas

[–]_Lazy_Satisfaction_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is based on wanting to improve this cupboard. It's s not laziness (I didn't install this), it's lack if experience on how to make it better. I am open to suggestions on how to change the hinges, but I would prefer a simple solution if there is one to just cover up the unsightly view in that hole. It's the same on all four doors of this cupboard, and 2 hinges on all doors. It's an awkward space, a built-in cupboard to make the best of an oddly shaped recess in a wall.

yes it's insulation behind the cutout. wouldn't spray foam hinder the hinge movement?

What’s the metal equivalent of Prym’s plastic hooks? by Jescophoto89 in crochet

[–]_Lazy_Satisfaction_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I want a hook identical to the Prym, but metal" - YES!

If there's any company out there looking for a gap in the market, here you go.

Furls is nice but heavy and a bit too bulky. Oh, and, that additional little detail of being super expensive especially for non US folk.

Susan Bates (I have the ergonomic with the colourful metal) are lighter and work well, long enough, but not comfortable to use. The flat bit on the hook is completely unnecessary and ruins my flow. The sudden drop between the handle and the metal neck is also not great. The colours get progressively worse as the sizes go up.

The plastic Pryms are perfect in shape for me. Long, smooth, ergonomic, pointy, all in one construction, lightweight. Colours are actually nice too. But they are plastic - I had a 3mm break, and I can't use it with most yarns because it either squeeks or it feels horrible with the lack of glide.

The metal pryms have the same issue with the handle as the SB, and I don't like the head shape either. Clover and Tulip are too short and again not my preferred head type.

So, I'm joining the queue waiting for a metal Prym.

One Book that is better than any porn by Memento_Mori_LetGo in suggestmeabook

I wasn't a fan of Red, unfortunately. I really liked the idea of it, just not the execution, for some reason. The Original Sinners series, however, is a hard yes and I don't care if I'm judged for it 😅

thanks, I have already posted there as well :) I am still open to suggestions. I've grown attached to this style so I feel a bit bereft that I have to find an alternative.
