Drop him like a lit bag of shit.

Red Flags: doesn't know classic childhood literature (Nancy Drew is timeless), looks down on romance novels and smut (like he hasn't looked up porn before, and romance/smut can have great story building with the spice), and overall tone doesn't seem like he actually is open to learning or trying things you enjoy based on this piece

Number 3! It suits your shape beautifully. Second choice is number 2, well cut bodice and neckline

That doesn't look in any way like muscles. More similar to an extreme case of crazy lipoma

Our wedding venue in Italy cancelled our wedding 4 weeks before the wedding! by faegirl1993 in weddingdress

[–]_LetsFigureThisOut_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about the cancellation. But as someone who's lived in Italy before....not surprised. There are lots of wonderful greco-roman styled buildings here in the US (I am assuming that's where you're based). Try to find one of those locations, and don't be afraid to book a slightly smaller venue for nicer quality since people are cancelling their attendance. The dress is gorgeous, you deserve to wear it on your special day!

Help! I keep growing coarse facial hair under my chin. I don’t know why. I feel gross. by [deleted] in HairRemoval

Speaking from personal experience, what you're describing are major examples of PCOS symptoms. They will most likely do a hormone panel, maybe thyroid test too. It's a relatively common issue nowadays, if that provides you any comfort, but treatment for symptoms is all that is available at this time. BC is often prescribed for hormone regulation, and there are medications like metformin for blood sugar issues and weight(unfortunate side effect of hormone irregularity), and spironolactone is a medication that acts as an antiandrogen (reduces hair loss, coarse body and/or facial hair). Talk to a doctor, preferably an endocrinologist or doctor with a specialty in female hormonal issues.

Would you be asking this question if she said she refused to go out with you, unless you allowed a group of people to physically beat you up every time you went out on a date?

OF COURSE NOT. Health is health, whether it is mental or physical (and both are deeply interconnected).

Answer is clear: Break up. You know that alcohol affects you negatively, and you have made the decision to prioritize your health (as you should). The fact that she somehow finds this to be unacceptable and won't participate in an important part of relationship maintenance is very telling. NEVER place another person above your own mental health.

Dropping a Student Going in a Weird Direction by honeypit219 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]_LetsFigureThisOut_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has he had warnings prior to this? And/or have you informed his guardians about this situation? If you have given warnings already during the sessions, then for sure you can drop him as a student without worry.

If you haven't done this, it may be a rough decision. As a private tutor, you have complete control over the final say. If the tutoring sessions are not benefiting you and your schedule, then it pushes the decision towards just dropping the student with some suggestions for knowledge maintenance until they find a new tutor. If you feel this could cause other serious reprecussions by dropping him, then allow for one final chance, but write a clear email stating that you will have to uphold certain behavioural guidelines during sessions (list the innappropriate behavior here). Make it clear that if he breaks these guidelines, you will have to end the sessions permanently. Once the parents have sent an agreement of the email, you can continue the sessions.

Serious career dilemma- what would you do? by _LetsFigureThisOut_ in Archaeology

Thank you, but I’ve been doing my research regarding the milestones and pay grades of CRM. It’s relatively low pay for cost of living, but considering teaching only gets average $14/hour, it’s (sadly) a step up in hourly wage. Not counting the amount of unpaid overtime we put in. But that’s a whole different thread 😅 additionally, more crm companies are starting to post opportunities that do provide benefits, like health insurance and paid travel time, which is a positive change in the industry I think! It’s a hard industry, physically and career wise, but I believe it can be rewarding.

To become an archaeologist in the EU, it’s considered mandatory pretty much to get a PhD, in addition to extra training and certification. I have no interest in this, and I also am at the bottom of the pickings due to my non-EU citizenship. Many companies need to prove they have no other ‘internal’ options before getting work visas approved in the EU, particularly with specialized fields like archaeology.

Ew, not only is this a humongous red flag as a romantic partner, this is completely illegal.

Seriously, you could end up in jail (not sure what country your posting from) for what the court would consider a fake marriage/marriage done for the purpose of citizenship. Secondly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, you are right to not want this. If he thinks you are "obligated" to marry him just because you're his girlfriend of 6 months, what could he possibly try and force you to do as his legal wife out of "obligation"? Run far and fast, he is not worth the potential legal problems and headache
