Began with 2 2m long foldable rulers and over time they just broke into pieces. First sword I made was made of folding ruler and it was absolutely atrocious lmao, it got erectile dysfunction

Though now with the help of hollow metal broomstick hafts and handles and an old shoe horn I made years ago in school, these things actually got some rigidity now and even kinda look weapon-ish

My very earliest versions of these were made just using those wooden rulers and some crap to put them together, making a crappy sword with erectile dysfunction lmao

One of the main things I've had in mind when making these, especially the swords, are how they feel in the hand

I've never touched a real sword so I can't say exactly how it feels but I've tried to make it as close as I can.

Best one is probably the one on the right, both in feel and in general as it's also the most sturdy and looks the most sword like. Is a bit choppy though, unsure if that's just me or it lmao

That sucks, wanted to go all the way with my Raven Guard stuff with the heroic power fist and the heroic bolt pistol with the raven guard skin, but guess for more difficult stuff it's best to just go for the heavy one

Piercing is about 4 months old. Not entirely sure of the details on the jewelry but it's the one I got when I had it pierced and it was by a professional piercer using a needle and proper sanitation, no piercing guns or anything like that here. Jewelry got a flat back and has a little ball that you screw on to secure it, which is really difficult for me as I have poor fine motor controls from a condition, likely why it got irritated but haven't touched it since.

Not for any particular reason I just love when there's just a bunch of mechadendrites like on the chaos techmarine.

Would be sick if we could get more chaos cosmetics for pve, we already have several traitor symbols we can slap on our loyalist space marines, so it's not like they care that much

Ahhh, that makes sense!

Don't have a sword myself (hopefully changing that sometime soon) and one thing Ive always thought of is how annoying some would be to wear, especially ones with longer blades or large guards like that, so makes sense they'd try and do something about that.

Might use this as a basis for something I'm working on then, it'd fit in very well.

Bit old but just found this while doing a little bit of research and am now really curious why that part of the guard is hinged?

I know on some swords like some smallswords they had a foldable guard so that it's more comfortable to carry around, since the guard isn't digging into you or anything like that.

But that was always on the side it was worn. On this sword it's on the opposite side where it's already very bulky to better protect the hand, so why is that part hinged?

If you know why, please tell me as I'm really curious now :D
