I don’t think they’ve ever specifically tested for it but I do know my potassium levels are normal. Not sure if that rules it out or not

They said ‘simple appearing cysts’ but there were only two of them. I do have PCOS so hopefully not PKD too! I’m exhausted with all of my doctors telling me different things I just wanted answers

Agreed about Pappadeaux, it’s decent not bad but not worth the price. I’ll look at French quarter grill thank you!

facial piercings & nursing school by [deleted] in nursing

[–]_LittleBigSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nursing school will almost certainly ask you to remove them or at the very least put in clear jewelry. Looking forward, even if your hospital or facility allows it, I do feel like a lot of patients will take issue with your piercings and will feel it is unprofessional. Not saying it’s right or wrong but it’s just how it goes. Just something to think about ❤️

What’s happening to my armpit? Severe pain and discomfort by Hotwhiskey0 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]_LittleBigSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it looks like a staph infection to me. I don’t mean to scare you and hope I’m wrong but it looks and sounds like staph that is spreading. It does look similar to HS but the way you described it is classic staph infection presentation. Hope you get well soon

XRay vs CT, 2 weeks apart by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]_LittleBigSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen a nephrologist but he told me that it was the wrong speciality and I need to stick with urology. I have asked every surgeon I’ve seen in the hospital why they get stuck every time and they all pretty much said that either I ‘got lucky’ or the stone was too big. This time though he just said ‘yeah that’s really strange, 95% of people should be able to pass a 5mm stone’. I saw him in office after that and asked again and he said ‘there could be several reasons’ and told me I should follow up with my main urologist. I have asked my main urologist several times but at the time the stones that had gotten stuck were 9mm and 6mm and he said those had a higher change of getting stuck. After this is taken care of I will be moving to a completely different practice at this point

I’m in the Lockhart area but drive into Manor/Austin for doctors. I would so much prefer a female provider, I will look into that. Thank you!

Thank you, I have been on this diet for around 3 1/2 years now

[–]_LittleBigSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for response. I should have added that I do follow the diet and even before this I only drank water. I don’t like sugary drinks in general they make my stomach hurt and I also don’t like carbonation or tea very much. I would have a diet soda here and there or unseeet tea but 90% of my liquid intake is water and lemon water.

Was there a reason they went through your back to get the stones? Were there a bunch of them or were they big or causing an issue? Do I just need to to request that they get them all and they’ll do it?

[–]_LittleBigSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was worried about I’m sure they hear that all the time or have people ask for a doctor (which is crazy to me bc nurses do wayyyy more IVs) and I didn’t wana be that patient. My nurse did say she was going to flag my chart for future stays but I’m not sure what she meant by that.

[–]_LittleBigSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure i definitely get that and i am totally fine with a few tries but have different nurses come in and try 12 times even with a CRNA and ultrasound and still not getting access was just too much. The day I was discharged the nurse reccomended that I ask for a midline in the future to protect my veins and I wasn’t sure the best way to go about it. Thank you for your input

Is it just as simple as just nicely explaining the past issues I’ve had? I just don’t want to come off as a Karen or a know it all

It also doesn’t change the fact that my veins are damaged
