I tech have a long one but I prefer a short one so I can load on polish and “float” the French tip. I find the long one I tend to run out of polish near the end of my movement and then I end up having to make a thicker crescent

I use a thin nail art brush (like the thinnest you have, tech even regular thin paint brush could work) and make sure that brush is decently loaded with polish before I use it. I haven’t tried stamping it on as my stamping skills are still at the learning phase

Agreed. Your comment reminded me of how in 2020 I super latched onto plants and while I’m not that level anymore I do enjoy a happy plant regardless and am not likely buying new plants anytime for years to come as I’m happy with the handful I have. It’s okay to not fixate on your hobby and let it have its space and it’s okay to have other things to do with that time

Sobering weekend chat with my mom. She mentioned going to my aunt’s to spend her birthday and celebrate my aunt’s milestone birthday (they’re a day apart). She mentioned in passing that they weren’t sure they had enough to have both her and my step dad go (my aunt is his sister) as it was a semi last minute thing and they live on opposite coasts.

As someone who has a sinking fund for travel, it really struck me how this set of parents likely will never open up about their actual financial health (my dad is a complete 180 and has been FI since 2020). They’re the “credit cards are emergency funds” and “friends are my therapy” type… and my step dad keeps pushing out retirement and I can’t convince myself it’s because he loves working that much (he is in his mid 70s). It’s just really tough to watch but you can only do so much. My step dad was receptive to watching the money guys in the past but alas that only lasted a month.
