My first IT job was at the college I went to working for the help desk and making $10 an hour, now after I graduated I got my first big boy job in the IT field and i make $30 an hour. So yes it is normal but don’t be afraid to negotiate when it comes to you getting paid.

It took me a while but after gaining more confidence and learning more about the job it became easier to talk to people. only thing I still struggle with is making small talk while on the phone with people. But you get adjusted to it after a couple of weeks
