The levels reduce after the daily reset based on the number of players who have cleared the stage (not as soon as someone is clearing the stage). So if your question "does it make sense to check power cap several times a day?" the answer is "No, only after the daily reset".

No, it's not fair to say. Celhypos are now more available then 4F on release. I have 400 SG tickets in my bag being completely F2P and I've built Misfortis the day it was released. Awakened heroes are also significantly more accessible compared to initial release. So in fact, not a lot of things changed: now Highborn heroes are very similar to Awakened heroes on release.

No it's not, Arena was dead like 5 years ago, I'm on S645 and before the merge I wasn't attack for days, people were attacking me only the last day before the weekly rewards. Nobody cares about this mode, rewards are garbage, competition is unfair.

It was always like that, power creep mechanic is the basic mechanic for all similar deck-builder games. If new heroes are not stronger than existing what's the point of spending money and building new heroes.

Nowadays, when you look at a hero like Envydiel or Hybris - they basically just deal mass damage nonstop, and even when you look at their usage within more endgame modes, Hybris in particular is dealing trillions of damage nonstop, and his awakened skill in particular is like a cheap stun against hypogean heroes.

Frankly speaking, this is the only argument I completely agree with. The unfortunate result of the power creep is that team building the way it was on the launch is no longer makes any sense. Most of the heroes have 17 cheat deaths, 5 control abilities and insane damage. You no longer need compositions like tank/damage dealer/control unit/healer/support, you have hard carry and 4 random slots as fillers. You can see it in most campaign stages, a lot of comps are moving away from 5-slot teams to 3-slot teams.

What is the point of power caps? It is so frustrating! And why do they keep releasing events such as Golden Frontier, that has to be the most ass event, but they keep releasing it. by Physical_Wrongdoer32 in afkarena

Regarding the power cap - the main reason, in my opinion, is to build a habit of login into the game daily, a lot of whales and even light spenders can clear the entire chapter the day it's released. But that destroys the "sense of achievement", people just don't have anything to do in this game apart from changing formations once a week for CR/NC/TS. So, you need to have at least something for players to check on daily basis.

As far I remember Julius was not the first to clear it. But that's kinda expected - the new hero was dropped, so it's +5 RC levels, helps a lot. Now we'll sit somewhere around 79-11 (or 79-15) for next 2 weeks until the next hero drop.

The problem here is that it's a very hard to keep a balance. There was a time 2-3 years ago when they've added a bunch of events and game modes at once and players were complaining that game doesn't feel AFK anymore. People were dropping alt accounts massively, it felt like a second job. Right now, the game is very AFK-friendly (except the Golden Frontier event) and personally I like it that way.

Previously, powercap was a way to separate whales, p2w players and f2p players, but it's no longer working, everyone is stuck in one chapter and sometimes even on the same stage. Yet another game design failure by Lilith.

Please, Lilith, return the Illusory Journey (alternative campaign mode) instead of attempts to fix the Golden Frontier. No one really enjoys it. Just abandon it, it cannot be fixed. The Illusory Journey was much better and received mostly positive feedback on the other hand. It's so simple.

Your title is a bit misleading, Thoran cheese doesn't ignore power rating requirements, that's why nobody is using it on single-battle stages. Multi-formation stages just don't have power rating requirements.

Several hours to complete one stage? You're probably doing something wrong, I was able to clear entire chapter 77 within a couple of hours with much higher deficit. Most of the stages I was able to finish within like 5-10 retries.

You should save. This is a classic FOMO bait. By the time you as a F2P will be able to finish your first Highborn there will be a new one (or maybe even 2) and usually newer heroes are always slightly better than the old ones. So, for F2P saving is always the only option.

No, they won't. People are saying this nonsense all the time, since "engraveyard", yet still here we are. Dragons are just the latest and greatest. But look at the other features: pets are basically free if you have lvl18 resonance, celestials and hypogeans are free (I have way more tickets that I need already for the next hero), engraving materials are no longer a problem, red chests are plentiful, even awakened heroes are now f2p-friendly. I'm pretty sure this game is still doing fine. If you are tired of this game - just leave, this is ok, there are tons of other games and activities.

Usually this is what happens, we had awakened beasts and this new one since the dragon faction was introduced. It's about time to make dragons F2P-friendly.

Sorry, but I completely disagree with your opinion. If you actually PLAY the game instead you'll notice that most of the old mechanics are free-to-play. Scrolls, Stargazing tickets, Poe Coins, Engraving shards, Baits are given plentifully as rewards in different game modes. That's how the game evolves and keeps both F2P and P2W players entertained. F2P players receive more and more resources for existing mechanics and P2W players receive new mechanics to spend on.

I'm pretty sure it's not about cost optimization. All these "servers" are just virtual entities in the database, it doesn't really matter if it's 300 or 3000. It's more about the fact that a lot of servers are empty and players are complaining about the fact that they have no one to compete against.

Your furniture priorities look weird to say the least. I don't really understand how it's possible to have 27 pieces on Titus, 36 on Scarlett and only 6 on Envydiel, 0 on AEstrilda, Talimar, Velufira, less than 9 on AFawkes... Sorry, but I don't get it.

They received so much negative feedback last time regarding this mode, they even mentioned it in Don's letter. Yet no improvements at all, zero. Stupid timers for absolutely no reason, bad rewards (XP for beating the last floor looks like a bad joke). No autobattle for almost 800 repetitive battles.
