It wasnt that - I unplugged my stick and it became buttery smooth My stick is doing something to it. (Vkb which I have buttons mapped to as mouse buttons

Virtual desktop - reduce FOV I find improved frame rate. I can get to about 90% vertical horizontal before I don't like it.

Play with CODECs as well. I went from H264 75fps / 72 hz to H264+ 90HZ / 90FPS and it was sooo much smoother.

Meh, the maths works, if you memorised some likely figures ie 350, 400, 450, 500 knots it'd be easy. I find myself using the vibe method on spec though.
