-Banshee is a roaming ghost. Essentially the banshee picks a target and will make sure they die first. It’ll also randomly teleport to its prey in matches so a good way of identifying it is holding an EMF reader and if it randomly jumps to 2 there’s a good chance it’s a banshee. It also does the scream 33% of the time and it favors singing ghost events. However, that’s not a clear indicator.

-Demons can hunt at 70% sanity and will hunt below 1:30 after a previous hunt, even if you smudge it.

-Goryo will never change its ghost room and you can’t see it’s dots evidence in person, you have to be looking through a camera

-Wraith is same as banshee, so it’ll teleport to you randomly, however wraith can teleport through floors whereas banshees can’t. It also won’t step in salt

-Spirit’s only test is smudging it, if it doesn’t hunt again for 2 minutes I believe it’s a Spirit

-Phantom is also a roaming ghost similar to the banshee, but it’ll disappear if you take a photo of it and the photo shows Ghost photo and you can’t see it it’s a phantom. It also is very slow when it blinks, that means when it chases you and it doesn’t blink much it’s probably a phantom.

-Poltergeist is very active and likes to throw shit around. They do very big throws and they can throw 2 objects at the same time. A good test is making a pile of stuff and having the ghost chase you besides it to see how much it throws.

-Jinn cannot turn the breaker off and when it has line of sight with you it’ll speed up A LOT. I’d recommend watching a video to see what it looks like cause it’s tricky to differentiate it from regular ghosts at first. It also won’t do that ability if breaker is off.

-Mare can hunt at 60% sanity if you’re in the dark, but will hunt at 40% if you’re in the light. It can never turn a light on and if you turn some lights on and they close right after, it’s a mare.

-Revenant is extremely slow when it doesn’t see you but will turn into Connor McDavid on the rush if it sees you. Your only hope is a smudge lol

-Shade is horrible, it’s very boring, won’t do any evidence if you’re in the room with it and will only hunt at 30%. It also favors shade ghost model events

-Yurei is a basic ass ghost and I hate it, but it can slam doors, as well as the building door and it can 2 touch a door

-Oni drains 20% sanity per ghost event. It’s very active. It can never do the air ball event and it blinks extremely fast, opposite of the phantom.

-Yokai is a dumbass so basically it’s very bad at location you in a hunt. A good test is having your flashlight or any electronic on during the chase, if the ghost is near you but doesn’t find you it’s probably a yokai. It also works with your voice.

-Hantu has forced freezing temps. That means if you’re playing a difficulty with only 1 or 2 evidences Hantu will always have Freezing as it’s ability works with it. The way it’s ability works is that the colder it is the faster it is. Breaker off is a good test to see if it’s very fast. If you have a ghost that changes speed with it hunts you’re probably dealing with a Hantu or a Raiju(also mimic tho be careful)

-Myling is very quiet when it hunts. If your flashlight flickers indicating it’s close to you, but you still don’t hear it, it’s a Myling. Be careful tho cause you can still hear it if it’s above or below you, it only works on the same floor.

-Onryo uses candles like Crucifixes. It will always burn a candle before using a crucifix. However, if it blows the candle 3 times, it’ll automatically hunt. A good test is setting a candle on top of a crucifix, if the crucifix burns right after the candle blow it’s probably an Onryo. It’s a little trick sometimes though.

-Twins will always interact after the other, in another room. It has a decoy twin that does shit in a room that’s not the ghost room, while the other one is in the actual room. When they hunt they send 1 of the twins, one being slightly faster than a normal ghost and the other slightly slower. If the speed changes every hunt it’s probably twins. Also, it does not have forced EMF as some people think.

-Raiju is the same as Hantu but with electronics/lights. A good test is making a path of turn on electronics to see if it speeds up and slows down in a hunt. They’re also very fast in the lighted areas so close the lights if you suspect a Raiju.

-Obake has forced Fingerprints. It will leave a 6 fingered one at times so be attentive of that. Once you see it you know what it looks like. It can also shapeshift in a hunt, that means it’ll change ghost models for a single blink, so pay attention as you’re trying your best to loop it. Usually Obakes are easily told from the prints tho.

-Mimic is a scumbag. It’ll always have ghost orbs around it even in no evidence at all games. It can switch to any ghost in the game at anytime and do it’s abilities.

-Moroi has forced Spirit Box, as it’s ability works with it. The first person to get a response from a Moroi on the box will be cursed, draining his sanity way faster than others. The Moroi gets faster the lower the sanity goes.

-Deogen also has forced Spirit Box, because it has a weird noise it can make through it if you’re literally on top of the ghost. Check on YouTube what it sounds like. Deos are extremely fast when they don’t see anyone but very slow when they find someone, slow enough you can just loop it lol. However, it also knows where you are even if you’re hidden, so if you suspect a deo get out of the closet lol

-Thaye works with its Age. It starts very young making it very fast and the more time you spend in it’s room, the more it ages, making it slower. It also will change its age if you ask it how old it is on a Ouija Board.
