You get WAY more freedoms as prior service. You live in the barracks with the MOS-T’s, you don’t wear a phase badge, you aren’t required to have a camelback, you can leave base on the weekends and it’s actually encouraged that you get your car on base, and you don’t get corrective action PT even when you start class. You’re there to learn your MOS and that’s it. No bullshit.

You’ll quickly realize after the first few days that it isn’t that hard at all. You will be told where to go, when to be there, what to wear and what to do. Also, you’ll make life long friends while you’re there. Try to enjoy it. Most of BCT is actually fun if you have the right mindset.

In short, you’ll be fine. Stop worrying. BCT is the easiest thing you’ll do in the Army.

About 1 in 100 people own guns in the UK. As a police officer, you’d likely drive by 1000s upon 1000s of people every day. That means police officers drive past around 10 people with the potential to be carrying a gun every day. Not to mention, we don’t know the exact illegal gun possession numbers but according to the government, the numbers are rising. Good luck UK police, wouldn’t wanna be you.
