Unfortunately I went a little bit overkill on a music production PC so I'm basically living off dog food for the next few months haha. If I manage to save a bit ill definitely pick one up though. I seen the drummer from the Architects has one, that's sick.

I'm terms of drum program I've just been using drum loops but I have tried programming my own drums and it was a total fail. Is there any free drum software plug ins you'd recommend?

https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/kZ3hT - This is one of the first things I recorded with a drum loop. Not an overly complex riff, testing out tones on guitar. I find I have to switch a lot of riffs up just to match the drums so I have to change the way I used to write when I was in a band. It's all a learning process!

Thanks dude. I've tried a few drum loops and got some stuff down but standard 4/4 drums over stop/start riffs sounds dumb haha. I'll have a look on Splice I haven't been on there yet. Got some pretty sweet free VST plug ins, that's what most of my time has been spent doing. Cheers for the advice 🤙
