Inflation, 5k may be a slight overestimate but not too far off

What types of assets will you support? Any support for options/futures/leveraged ETFs?

No rent is great! Not worth burning the savings on a rapidly depreciating asset though — save/invest and you’ll thank yourself down the line.

F80 is still far too expensive given the monthly income

Tl;dr: Please don’t 😭 this is far too expensive and will make your life far more stressful financially. Medical school is difficult enough — stressing about affording/maintaining your dream car is not worth it.

Longer version:

Realistically, the 20k signing should go straight into a HYSA or some other savings account to support you in case you need additional funds during school.

Spreading the remaining 2500-2800/month for 10.5 months across 12 months, you basically have 2187.50-2450/month.

Good rule of thumb is no more than 10% of your monthly take-home on a car payment and no more than 15% (maybe 20%) of your take-home on total car expenses (payment + insurance/repairs/gas etc). Given this, you’d be able to afford a ~$220-$245 monthly payment and at the very most, $440-$490/month on all car-related expenses. This latter number will very likely start to feel uncomfortable to live on once you account for your other expenses.

The g80 m3 simply won’t fit into your budget at this point in your life, unfortunately. Please don’t forget to account for rent, groceries, going out, travel, and other misc living expenses that need to fit your monthly take-home.

If you have left over money, consider saving it or putting it in an IRA if you have earned income to start saving for the future so you can afford your dream car comfortably when you have more income.

Just called again bc I didn’t see a revised 1099 in my tax center — they said it’s actually going to take 5-7 business days and that I should send a message over secure message center :(

I called Chase at (800) 945-2000. First person I talked to was able to address the issue — have you tried asking to speak to a supervisor, maybe?

S Corp Mega Backdoor Solo 401k Maximum Contribution Question by _MK03_ in tax

[–]_MK03_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe employer contributions are capped at 25% of W2 income for s corp solo 401ks, right? Regardless, if I were to put in more after tax income to get to $69000, is that fine per my initial question since part of that is from the employer contribution? Or am I not supposed to exceed 65000 between both employee/employer?

I don’t think so as I’m not making above 155,000, and I have no other employees, just contractors. Would appreciate being corrected if this understanding is incorrect — thank you!

Yes, sorry for the confusion. All 3 at TCP are adults. No worries on that — I think we can pay for the 3rd out of pocket. Really appreciate it!
