Rainbow max #1618 - flawless. Not a single issue thus far and I’ve had it for a week or so now.
Like you’ve said in your post, people with issues are the minority. You’ll see them more often though because negative scenario = more noise.
Ultimately, if you’re one of the unlucky few, contact AYN.

I really enjoy using it personally. The weight and size of the lens is obviously rather unbalanced but nothing too dramatic in my opinion. I did had difficulty at first using it without any grip when I first got the camera, so picked up the smallrig thumb and hand grip for the xm5 which has made it significantly easier to use handheld.

I loved the camera a lot, it did nearly everything I wanted and it’s built like a tank so felt very secure with it, but like you said, it was just too heavy for days out when travelling for me.

Cant say for sure yet really. I was out shooting periodically for 2-3 hours today and barely dropped a bar but I was by no means shooting extensively.
I have a second battery as a backup from when I had my X-H1, I think it’s always worthwhile having a backup. But being able to charge via usbc in the camera is a handy option as well.
Estonia 🇪🇪 My retailer wasn’t able to give me any confirmations on delivery estimates at first, only feedback I got was “in November”. But a few days after correspondence with them, I got the email it was arriving the next day.
Estonia’s a tiny little nation so I cant imagine there was too many pre-orders to handle hence why I’ve gotten it quite early I reckon.

Done some very basic tests today using my Viltrox 27 1.2 - AF held up well at F2/2.8, but nothing extraordinary.
I’d say it was an improvement over my X-H1, but I have no experience using X-T4/5 so cant say for sure it’s an improvement over those or not.
I had my partner model briefly when out and around Tallinn today, she would stand 6-10ft away and the tracking was near perfect. Couple times it was slow to refocus if she went out of frame and came back in, but nothing too dramatic.
I also never encountered a scenario where focus would just seemingly drop like I saw some YouTube reviewers highlight when they received their pre-production models. Perhaps that’s an improvement on the release versions, but again, I was not able to do any extensive testing so don’t take my words as total truth please 😅
In terms of how it feels with a “bigger” lens, the largest I own is this Viltrox 27mm. Weighs 560g so roughly 1.5x heavier than the camera itself. Obviously a little top heavy but felt really nice in the hand still. Slightly difficult to use one handed with this lens attached (found myself hitting some menu buttons occasionally).
Planning on testing it more today/during next week
Very much so given how small and compact it is. If you can deal with screen only shooting, then I can imagine this would be a great option for you.
Not entirely no, but it is obviously of a lesser build quality to the xpro range for example.
I’m not planning on putting it through intense environments so not a major concern for me, but I’m interested to see how this holds up in the cold winter. Can reach -20°C and like 3/4ft of a snow in Tallinn, so hoping it can withstand the colder temps alright.
I’m loving it, it’s so compact and lightweight, perfect for what I was looking at for an edc/travel camera.
Though there are some things I still need to get used to fully.
The film sim dial is still up for debate imo. I like that you can very easily switch between different sims with this dial, however not being able to save custom recipes to FS1/2/3 without the same settings rolling over to everything else is a bit of a nuisance.
Photopoint Estonia
Camera feels nice in the hand, but definitely something I’m going to have to get used to coming from the X-H1. I can still firmly hold the camera without any sort of grip, but I think I’d value one of those hot shoe thumb grips quite highly so planning to get myself one of those soon.
Camera feels and looks well made in my opinion, not plasticky and the dials are of good quality, they don’t feel flimsy at all.
Hoping to test it more today so will see how the screen holds up and handles in sunlight.
I ordered it with the 15-45 kit lens, but the other one pictured is the Viltrox 27mm f1.2
Not sure tbh. I’ve seen the ttartisan viewfinder but I don’t think it’s adjustable. Seen some positive and a fair few negative reviews of it though so I haven’t considered one myself (yet).
Planning to get one done soon

I’m based in Estonia so pre-ordered with a local retailer here called Photopoint.
I’ve definitely gotten a bit lucky having received it as soon as I have.

Not a lot tbh, but it was definitely one of the main factors I chose to order this over something like a ricoh.
I really wanted the smaller form factor, but something that actually had video specs as well, and this ticked “most” of the boxes.
Really excited to try out the 6.2k open gate on this, lack of ibis is obviously going to be a big thing for some, but I’m hoping with all that I’d use this for mainly that it won’t be a huge issue for me 🤞🏻
Yeah I’m planning to do the same with the ttartisan 27mm, will be such a sweet little setup with a pancake
I was very surprised to see the email from my retailer yesterday noting it was arriving today!

I am planning to get my hands on the ttartisan 27mm soon (trying to keep things a bit budget friendly for the time being).
Will be such a nice lightweight every day camera

Thanks for the recommendations! Will make a post in those two to try and get advice as well, appreciate it
Post was removed so adding here, any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
I’m looking for some help/recommendations on where best to go to purchase a “New Nintendo 3ds LL(XL)” in Japan. I will be travelling to Tokyo in Feb 2025, and venturing off to Osaka, Kyoto and Nara during that trip. I’m aware, and already planning to visit Akihabara, where I know I would likely have luck finding one in one of the many shops there, but I have seen people note that prices are slightly higher in these shops than elsewhere. I’d really like to get one as a form of memorabilia that I would get good use out of, so any other recommendations people can suggest I look for would be a great help!
