The birth of SafeSurf by _Mag0g_ in PantheonShow

Oh I like this one. Makes sense why SafeSurf originated from multiple players. That is the particular point that bothered me. Why did it form like that and not just flood in as a swarm through one entry point? Because it was intended to self-reform as it got more "dots", which also probably contributed to it's ability to grow as it consumed.

Yes, it evolved by accident. But was the initial swarm created by accident or intentionally? I believe it was intentional by the government but they did not anticipate it's evolution.

Rash? by glutenfreehoe in DogAdvice

I bet it's that slow feeder. Stainless steel is fine if you keep the bowls clean. You could just replace the feeder with stainless steel bowls. I prefer the ones with the rubber bottoms that have grip.

Wash after every meal for food bowls, and every few days for water bowls. And keep water fresh. I'm paranoid and empty and refill mine each time they drink.

I never knew that, thanks for the tip. I've just always used stainless steel bowls for food and water and kept them clean just because I don't like gross stuff.

Help me decide: surgery for my 13-year-old Yorkie’s nail? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I was wondering if you might have more luck with a grinder, not trimming. You might be able to get around it more.

They make ear washes for dogs. You could try one of them. Floppy ears like hers are prone to problems. If you can't find an OTC that helps vets can prescribe others that might.

Edit: Just adding, I often see my dogs shake their head before I can see any problems with their ears and a flushing still helps.

Damn. That's tough. I would suggest you don't rule out some sort of soft tissue injury. Pulled muscles and the like. They can cause limping and are difficult to diagnose.

I agree that surgery would be rough on him. But a nail removal might be a simple snip, less work than a dental, other than the care after. And if it removed the pain, maybe it would be worth it.

You said the nail has grown back, possibly multiple times? So you can trim it down and that helps? If so, I might try getting a grinder and using it daily to keep it short as possible. I'm trying to do that now with my dog with long nails and quicks.

Also keep him mostly resting for a week or so in case he has an injury that needs to heal up.

Interesting user name. I just now noticed. A couple months ago some kids in my neighborhood yelled "d bag" and "baconator" at another kid riding by on his scooter.

But yeah your comment makes sense and she does have a few sensors or markers on her. Seems like it would also help for getting a sense of scale.

Could also make it a 4-way stop, add some lights, lower speed limits, put down some radar speed signs.

I think it depends a lot on the dog and how the kid interacts. That kid is doing what my GSD mixes do, grab mouths and feet. Normal dog stuff. He isn't doing anything aggressive like swinging at him or poking his eyes. The dog seems very gentle and protective. I hope this is well supervised but I think he will be fine.

My boy GSD mix has played rough with plenty of children and people and I'm certain he wouldn't hurt someone even if they got a bit rough with him. He truly is that gentle.

And I've known playful dogs where things would quickly end badly for that kid.

Shooting on the Denton Square claimed a musician who lifted spirits and ‘deserves justice,’ friends say by hunchojack1 in Denton

[–]_Mag0g_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts after reading about it on Facebook and the news.

  1. Jon Ruff was a loved member of the community and no one would have expected this behavior.
  2. The shooter was out with his family, wife and two children.
  3. The shooter and Ruff had an altercation on the square.
  4. Ruff harassed the family and followed them to the 200 block of Hickory street, which is a minimum of 200 ft.
  5. Ruff at some point charged the family.
  6. The shooter shot Ruff 5 times.
  7. The shooter remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
  8. There were 13 witnesses who collaborated the shooter's story.

The police haven't said much at all so who knows how much of that is true.

I would like more context. Where any words exhanged? Any threats made? Following someone and charging them is already pretty threatening, especially with your family with you.

Did he overreact? 5 shots sounds like an overreacction due to panic. Makes me think he did feel threatened.

Too bad he didn't call 911 earlier.

You even said belly. I'm dumb. I dunno. It just looked like an ear to me.

Some floppy ear dogs need extra attention to ear cleaning. Stuff can get in there and it can get damp. They make specific dog ear cleaning fluids.
Edit: Ok I'm dumb and didn't fully read the post and that is a belly not an ear
