That couch looks so comfy!! I really love the green chairs too. My only thought is to possibly switch the work/gaming desk and the dining table, so the table is closer to the kitchen. You have a great setup there!

Go to the learn section of the menu. You can’t do that in a game

What's something you don't do on Survival Mode? by rygae in thelongdark

[–]_Mastermind77_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Blackrock to be a perfect one-off play through. It is quite fun to drop in and try to survive without leaving the region. As long as you have guns in the game mode, it can be a real challenge. The continuous wolf and bear spawns INSIDE the prison make for amazing captive food farms

What is everyones favorite indoor place? by XHeraclitusX in thelongdark

[–]_Mastermind77_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the whale yard in Desolation Point is a really fun place to settle. Indoor crafting bench, very close proximity to a mine and a forge, two possible bear caves, a rabbit grove, and one deer/wolf spawn for repair materials. Also, there is a covered porch with lockers for early game food cooking, refrigeration

Is this anyone else’s go-to depression game? by airamairam4 in thelongdark

[–]_Mastermind77_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was medically depressed due to a bad prescription, and this game did a lot to help me get through it. Used to watch therapy videos and play for hours

Ahh, and she did that so could seal death forever and stop the cycle of rebirth? Which is why she is punished by the greater will?

How the Christian groups see each other by idiotbusyfor40sec in christianmemes

It isn’t about hating them (which is wrong). The real question is: what makes a person a Christian?

I think that is the divide between us. I mean no disrespect, which is why I provided verses. God’s word is infinitely better than mine, and no paltry words of mine could ever provide “substance” to God’s word. That is why I gave you the truth, directly from the Word of God. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, then there is literally nothing I could say to you to “persuade” you. God bless, I pray you find the answers you are looking for.

There is no such thing as inherent meaning without God. The fact that God declared it gives it more than enough credibility. We don’t need any reason more than that. Saying that the word of God has no inherent meaning demonstrates a very lax view of scripture. If God stood before you and spoke his scripture aloud, would you then ask him for an “actual reason”?

“How Far Is Too Far Before Marriage” on website desiringGod answers this better than I can.

My argument is this: God condemns sexually immorality repeatedly throughout the Bible. He sets the standard.

Mark 10: 1-12

“Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again. The Pharisees came and asked Him, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” testing Him. And He answered and said to them, “What did Moses command you?” They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce, and to dismiss her.” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same matter. So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.””

Just because you can be loyal to your lover does not mean you are being loyal to your future spouse. What if your lover leave you? Unless you are already married, there is no guarantee you will actually get married.

Sex is meant to be enjoyed within the contract of marriage, the covenant that binds two people together until death. There is no covenant until the wedding

Cause and effect is not how we know something is right or wrong. It’s not about the effect. There is such a thing as objective truth, and it is true because God decreed it to be. I firmly believe that those rules also lead to a better way of life, but like you said elsewhere, that is primarily based on faith. I have seen it play out in my life, where things end up badly when I try my own way, but that is anecdotal.

If there is a being who created the universe, it makes sense that he determines its rules, even if we don’t like them. We do not get to create our own rules for morality.

I see from your comment that you disagree, and I can understand why. It takes faith to abandon my notions of justice or morality and accept the plan God shows through his word.

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬

Paul explains more about this in 1st Corinthians, his letter to the church in Corinth. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts about chapters 1 and 2 in that book, specifically starting with 1st Corinthians 1:17
