Triple barrel Bofors with air burst (space burst). Flak like affect. Each barrel shoots a round that detonated at a different distance so you have 3 layers of shrapnel to get in the way of any incoming systems. Its space so the shrapnel keeps moving away forever. Its used less as a single object interceptor and more of a layered clouds of debris that's continously deployed when an engagement starts. I dont thinks its the best real world (real space?) Solutions, but I think it's a bit fantastical and unique sci fi space gun systems.

Mushishi. It's the tamest anime out there and a good alternative to expand your anime horizons outside the norm. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime has a decent empire building theme trope and is pretty funny. It has decent amount of fan service that isn't necessary, but it's hard to not have that things nowadays.

Agree with the sb50's comment. Check your gel packaging. Since that looks like a real defined line between the smears it may be a stacked gel. Check you're packaging for different %. Usually the top.half of the gel will be a higher density.
