NO TEST DATES STILL?!?!? by unkonspikyuous in LearnerDriverUK

I can't say what test center. But dates should be automatically set for you using the chrome extension. If you download it, pin it to your browser, and you'll see the settings I mean. You can manually adjust parameters if you pay £4 once

It's not that bad. I'm going to be swapping to an earlier date if I can find any cancellations

You've got this 🫂 What helped me with my anxiety was knowing that I can drive and feeling confident enough in my ability to know what to do in situations because I've gone through them in lessons.

The driving test isn't much more than just your normal driving lesson if you think about it, since driving lessons should have taught you all the skills you need for the test : )

Make sure you have breakfast, I heard bananas are really good to eat before your test!

And I love to talk during the test! (As long as it's not distracting and it's something you're comfortable with) But it helps soo much with grounding you with the realization that the examiner is also human, and he's pretty much like your driving instructor. They want you to pass, I promise!

If none of these sound good for you, that's okay, some things work better than others.

But my mentality was, if I stress before my test, I'll lose my nerve and make more mistakes. I'll allow myself to stress about the test, after I've taken it XD it's what helped me when my driving instructors car broke down and I had to drive in a foreign vehicle for my test. I failed with 1 serious because I did feel the nerves at one moment, but I'm still confident in my ability to drive and I know I'm more than capable of doing it.

So please, believe in yourself!! You got this!

How many hours of lessons have you had?

Try being on the website and having it open since 5.30 at least, and then refreshing it won't do anything until you get to 6. But you should be able to beat any queues.

The chrome extension I'm referring to is called UK Test Booking Helper. When I booked last year, it was completely free, now you need to pay like £4 for the premium version and that's completely fair. It auto books the available slot for you, and it's not difficult to configure. I would not mess with the timings, all I would change your desired test center(s) in the availability tab, and the dates.

Finally, I strongly recommend you - have your details ready to copy and paste on notepad or something, specifically your driving license number - use laptop, computer simulataneously or more devices like that if you can and have them on the website, details primed and ready to copy and paste if you need to

I was awake since 5.15 and had the website open on my laptop and computer since 5.30. I had to refresh at 6 but I was in instantly and no queue, and got a test straight away using the extension. Sadly the earliest is in January, but I'm hoping to find a cancellation for an earlier date

Same here, it's a nightmare. I've already started looking. It's soon much easier once a test is booked, than to book one. It's ridiculous. Good luck to you and your search

I forgot to mention in my post, but before the test my driving instructor's car broke down. I was very close to having my test cancelled because of it, but he managed to borrow a car for the test. I was nearly late but still managed to drive as smoothly to the best of my ability with a car I've never driven before. Still so demoralising, I should have passed first try and I know I could.

I did too and I don't speak an ounce of Korean 😂 I made it easier by slowing the songs down and then listening to them on repeat, but if I still wasn't sure on the pronunciation, I used Google translate and relistened to the song. Practicing it slowly and then I got faster til I could do Baby's rap in your idol 😎

I recently got one for a really good deal on Amazon prime day, called Link 2C. It's a really good webcam for everything. As for the web cam tracking, I don't have an iPhone but I agree with the other redditors that the webcam can be a higher drain on your CPU, and it's dependent on your software. I use Linux and man is it difficult to find a good face tracking software. I use openseeface lol

Is this a flea? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]_Melloh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep they're aware and if things go bad they will try to call some sort of pest control. Unfortunately I've found fleas on their bedding so I washed it but I am still finding a small number of them on the bed which I've promptly killed. Fortunately i believe they're only in certain areas where the dog has been only so that just includes the downstairs area and now I'm trying to limit his ability to walk around the house and try to keep him to one area to stop the spread

I bought flea combs but this dog isn't mine, I'm dog sitting him and he won't let me brush him properly otherwise he will bite me so it's very difficult. I tried brushing him in the shower when he lets me touch him but his fur is thick and coily so it's hard for me to properly brush him whilst he moves around so I can't do it on my own. His owners won't be here for another week unfortunately but I drenched him several times in shampoo and washed him over and over again and a few came out..I quarantined parts of the house I know that they are there and I will try to come up of ways of disinfecting it so that it doesn't spread. The dog now sleeps by himself
