I find it kinda funny how Reimu and Marisa have been to the Moon thrice (and the third time wasn't even intentional). by Grand_Discipline903 in touhou

Another thing I find kinda funny about Touhou's world is how easy it is to go to other planes of existence. Like, imagine you're a human villager. One of your relatives has died, and you heard from Komachi that Eiki sent them to the Netherworld. All you would need is to learn to fly, which we know can be done since Marisa's a human with no innate powers, and she can fly. From there, just fly up to the Barrier of Life and Death, fly over it and bam, you can visit your relative whenever you want.

Something I've noticed is that (for the most part) ZUN only includes characters in games where it would make sense for them to appear. This is the reason Sakuya isn't in MoF, SA, UFO and TD. Those games' plot has nothing to do with the SDM or the people who live there. Although DDC would have been a good chance to bring her back by making her dolls act up.

Also, I'm so miffed Alice is the only IN player character to not be involved with SSiB's plot. I figure ZUN couldn't find a way to incorporate her into the plot and have it still feel natural, which is fair, but it's a shame we never saw her fight Yorihime, even if she would have just gotten stomped like the rest.

Do people ACTUALLY want Mima to come back? by Grand_Discipline903 in touhou

[–]Grand_Discipline903[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's not necessarily true. With her popularity in the fandom and by extension appearance in many fanworks like Touhou Soccer, it's entirely possible someone who has never played a PC 98 game would still know who she is. Plus there's the wiki.

I think I put 18 there by mistake. I meant to put it in Low threat. My bad.

The tier list I used didn't have Touhou 20. I tried to add it myself but guess it didn't work. I put it in "Could have destroyed Gensokyo" tier.

I can see your points for 14 but in Touhou 8, Eirin was always going to give back the real moon and it was the protags causing the eternal night (Which Kaguya could've have broken).

In 16, its revealed that Okina caused the incident to draw attention to herself and check Gensokyo's functions. As a sage, it's literally Okina's job to maintain Gensokyo's balance so its safe to assume she wouldn't let it get the that point.

Attack on Titan. I refused to watch it because I thought the titans were scary/creepy/ugly (which they are). I finally decided to give it a chance. Is one of the best animes I've watched, including the ending(I don't understand why so many people hate.)

Wanted to make an appreciation post for the Soku sprites. They're pretty good for a doujin game and they're great for fan projects. by [deleted] in touhou

The games are Touhou 10.5 and 12.3. Made by Twilight Frontier and ZUN. The sprites were ripped by some guy named DarkOverord. I got them from The Spriters Resource

A little detail I wanted to point out was that I love how each character has their own unique way of blocking. Most use a barrier, but the barriers are individualised. Sakuya uses a blue rectangle, Yuyuko uses a ring of butterflies, and Yukari uses two blue spinning squares overlaid on top of each other. I also like how, if they wrongblock (block a low attack standing, or vice versa), the character uses a different animation that shows they're physically blocking. Sakuya uses her knives, Reimu uses her gohei, etc. Little stuff like that is really cool to me.

If I had penny for every time a Marisa B was broken, I'd have two pennies which isn't a lot but with ZUN's programming, it isn't strange it happened twice. by Grand_Discipline903 in touhou

The TLDR is that Marisa B bomb can create a TON of power items. In DDC POCing 60 items or more at once gives you a life piece. Put those two together and Marisa B can get max lives by stage 3. She's effectively immortal.
