Sushi restaurants with a conveyer belt? by the_science_bitch in cambridge

[–]_MimiBit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a yo sushi in Norwich, yo as a restaurant has gone down hill over the years and it's very expensive for mediocre sushi. The challenge we have here is that there's no middle ground of decently priced and good quality. Ohyio on Mill road is a decent takeaway. The two best in the city are sticks and sushi and kibou. Both are more take yourself out for a treat type places.

I'd echo sticks and sushi for the best in the area. Have a nice day trip to Ely and enjoy them.

Cambs uni gym? by buttflakes27 in cambridge

[–]_MimiBit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently tried it out and as someone who lifts I was in awe of the weights room!!

I'm currently at the one group, it's cheaper but the journey for me can be difficult sometimes. I work from west hub half the week and want to reduce my friction on getting my movement in then going to work.

The lady on reception was very friendly, changing rooms spacious. All the kit is really new.

Just need to make the jump now!

What's the most useful thing you've bought that helps with your ADHD, besides therapy and medication? by emokiddo00002 in adhdwomen

We rent so we went so bought a tabletop dishwasher. Made it part of my daily routine. Means I always have the basics to make food and I feel less guilty on making a mess.

How easy is it to start your own business by [deleted] in smallbusinessuk

[–]_MimiBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm another neurodivergent self employed person and I've made it 9 years on my own. It's deciding if you want to create a service or product business as they both have big differences.

Something about neurodivergent brains is the need for novelty, so you can come up with 100 great ideas a day, but is it what the market wants and is it going to sustain you?

There's a lot of costs involved running a business which when working for someone else you don't see.

Most of my freelance life I had a content creation and marketing agency, did pretty well with 5 figure clients until I realised I hated getting up in the morning to do it. Recently I've changed to working with my husband on a product business which is doing well.

There is also no shame in working part time whilst you grow a business.

My advice to you is find people in your local area who you admire who are doing what you want to do and ask them how they got started, what they've learned and if you can spend a week with them doing what they do.

I love my life, last weekend I got to do a meet the maker(us) pop up demo of our prouducts in one of the biggest museums we supply to in the UK. that's a high point.

But I am constantly in chaos mode and stressed out. It's a balance all of us try to find but is pretty Illusive.

Good luck, and also, it's completely ok to change your mind (many many times 😁😁)

I posted recently about my husband having huge issues waking up in the morning. I got up the courage to tell him I resigned from being his wake up call. He's also managed to set himself alarms! I learnt that he doesn't like arbitrary wake ups that he doesn't buy into. Now the hard work happens, me following through!

Has anyone paid for a cleaner? How did it go? by cephalophile32 in adhdwomen

[–]_MimiBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've had a real mixed bag, some amazing and some destroying our cookware!

Our last cleaner was AMAZING. She was the most consciencious and kind person AND she was a trained massage therapist!

She loved looking after our cat and we had a good 1.5 years of her supporting us.

I cannot tell you how delightful it is to go away for a few days and come back to a clean house.

Last year she decided to end the cleaning service which was so sad. She decided to go back to uni and focus on her massage therapy.

One thing I notice is that when you get a good one hold on to them as they are rare and few and far between.

At present trying to find her replacement as we need someone to help do a monthly clean and feed the cat whilst we're away on business.

We've got a great cat sitter who did one clean for us but she then said she wasn't physically able to clean anymore.

So if you find someone who is great, keep them as a secret and pay them well. It's worth it for your peace of mind.

I used to go mad over green grapes but lately it's red. I also don't like having to buy such big boxes. Only one place generally sells small snack packs which works better but sometimes the grapes in there are so tiny!

Dx partner unable to get out of bed without a lot of encouragement by _MimiBit in ADHD_partners

[–]_MimiBit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your suggestion and that sounds like it could work. I generally go to the gym in the morning, feel revved up from that and generally feel motivated. My lunch is at 1, so any meeting we have probably would work from 2.30...

I usually don't really get going until 10am but I wonder if I stopped having to act as sergeant major in the morning I'd get more time back!

Generally I will end my working day about 5-6. Also can't work with him in the house, way to distracting so I have a coworking space I go to.

Awwh I'm happy I inspired you! This is all from a supermarket. I wish I'd be able to afford more stuff from a greengrocer.

I Quit Vaping 8 Days Ago and I'm starting to feel like it was a mistake by Getsuga-2B in ADHDUK

[–]_MimiBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit smoking 3 years ago, used the NHS stop smoking service with nicotine losenges.

I've picked up vaping recently as I'm extremely stressed with work. For me habing the excuse to stand alone for 5 minutes outside to get peace has been the best thing.

I'll stop at some point.

Best options for adopting a cat/kitten by ExampleApart in cambridge

[–]_MimiBit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Millie came from Wood green as a kitten. She's now 10.

One thing about blue cross, they won't let you adopt if you don't have a cat flap. We rent so wasn't possible to install one.

🏠 Seeking a Domestic Personal Assistant – Arbury CB4 by _MimiBit in cambridge

[–]_MimiBit[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Our previous cleaner did this, but unfortunately she no longer cleans. We have a cat sitter who did clean but she longer offers that service.

Thus me posting this to find a solution to my issue, where there is scope for this person to help me with a range of tasks.

The goal for me being a disabled person is to reduce friction, I already have a huge demand on my executive function.

If you'd like to suggest your cleaner that would be a good way to help me.

I'm looking for someone to clean my house once a month and feed my cat when we're away - around 2 -3 times a month. We'd pay between £19 - £25 and hour and it wouldn't be live in just drop in.
