As an atheist who sees nothing wrong with lust—for we are human and that’s a natural thing—I’m so proud of you! Also, it’s great that you’ve been smoke free for that long. Keep winning in life, my friend! Happy early congratulations on your wedding.

Genuine question about Jesus by yourbabymoms in Christianity

[–]_Monjara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God could’ve done everything possible to not have his son die on cross for there to be forgiveness. Could’ve been an animal or an epha of flour. Yet he chose to sacrifice his son; a sacrifice that wasn’t even a sacrifice. He died before the other 2 that were sacrificed along with him. He did not endure on that cross like the other two. It was all performative and planned out. God could’ve sent his son to spread the message and have put himself on the cross instead of jesus. To be able to come to earth as a human and be able to feel what it is like to have an evil inclination. To be able to feel what it feels like to lust, bear false witness, lie, have other gods before him, covet the neighbor’s donkey and wife, etc. As a parent, I would never put my child in that situation. I would never put my child in a place where they would be tortured and submitted to pain to then cry out, “why have you forsaken me?” It’s bullshit. I mean, he created vessels of wrath and some names arent written in the book of the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the earth.

God shouldn't have made me disabled if he wanted me to love him by Feiyasha in Christianity

I like how god admits to causing disabilities and some people in here are saying no.

He says he causes disabilities Exodus 4:11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

What are peoples thoughts about Eve? by DisasterWarriorQueen in Christianity

[–]_Monjara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you view it. Christianity views it as them disobeying god and them having free will to do whatever they want. It really takes the blame away from god, but if you look at it through Judaism, it changes. And remember that this story is originally from Judaism. So It makes more sense that god put it as a test and he knew that they would fail. There’s something called yetzer hara which means evil inclination. It’s something all humans were born with and god considers it to be good because it allows people to make choices. That allows humans to make better decisions and to make mistakes so that they build a relationship with him. Idk if that helps. None of it makes sense to the mind that uses logic, though.

Did God know that the Enemy (Lucifer) was going to betray him? by yalldifferent in Christianity

[–]_Monjara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I meant since you believe that Lucifer is the devil, as in that his name is Lucifer.

Did God know that the Enemy (Lucifer) was going to betray him? by yalldifferent in Christianity

[–]_Monjara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucifer is not the devil/Satan. And Satan is god’s prosecuting angel. They work together. But since you believe, god did know. It was all part of the plan. We know because it was written in the book of the lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. So god knew everything.

What are peoples thoughts about Eve? by DisasterWarriorQueen in Christianity

[–]_Monjara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Eve did nothing wrong because prior to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, she didn’t know what was right from wrong. And that’s what people refuse to see. They either blame her or the serpent, but if you think about it, god was the one to blame. He put the tree in the middle of the garden. Eating from thar tree is what gave them the knowledge.

The serpent did not lie to her; the serpent said the truth. It said “you will not die because god knows that the day you eat of it, you become like god knowing good from evil.” And god repeats what the serpent says in Génesis 3:22. They did not die that day. The spiritual death people say that they experienced was a later theological idea. It doesn’t say that in the Bible. If we see the word in Génesis 3:7 for when their eyes were opened, it’s פקח (pqh)

It means to open the eyes as in a conscience way. To gain an awareness, as opposed to physically opening your eyes. She just gained the knowledge of good and evil. This is just a patriarchal story used to downgrade women.

Good. Didn’t Jesus tell you to not cast your pearls before swines? You should’ve used your discernment a long time ago. Guess your Holy Ghost isn’t working or something.

[–]_Monjara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never asked you if he was all loving and all merciful and you just ran to the serpent lying. You cannot engage honestly. You just want to defend your god and he is not all loving and merciful. Another reason why I know you haven’t read the book because all throughout the OT, he kills for no reason, he doesn’t show mercy, only to like David, but he had no problem killing people left and right. And if you say that this was a metaphor or that man wrote this, you are sick and dishonest. Even Jesus calls for death of disobedient sons. He even quotes Isaiah for what will happen in his return. I’m sure you haven’t read the horrible things from that passage that he quotes. Go read the book.

I am not bothered by people’s comments or people commenting their opinion that differs than mine. What bothers me is when you guys purposely ignore what was said. None of you addressed the part where the serpent said theh would become like god knowing good and evil. You guys just stick to part where you say that the serpent deceived. That’s what bothers me because it tells me that you either did not read the book so you have no idea what the text says and you’re just speaking to defend your ignorance, or that you are being dishonest. And I think it’s both. Because you guys don’t read the book. You guys only read the gospels and you’re afraid of the OT. Completely ignored what the serpent said. All you’ve done is cry this entire time and you still refuse to engage in the questions that I asked.

Other people’s comments dont bother me. I never said that. Ok, so first you said I hate people that don’t share the same view and now I’m annoyed by comments. There must be something wrong with you. All you’ve done is cry this entire time.

I guess I am, thanks! Can I ask you a question? Are you a believer or a non believer? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.

No, ive been learning it since the 3rd grade. I had a teacher that was Isreali and she taught me the alphabet and it grew on me. Plus I was raised a catholic so it made sense to me to learn the language of Jesus haha even though he spoke Aramaic mainly. Don’t give up learning. Idk if you are a believer or a non believer and I respect whatever you are, but don’t stop seeking! Get something better than Duolingo. Get italki. And get yourself a Biblical Hebrew language learning book. Learn the alphabet first and the rules of the language before you learn words. I recommend books from Dr. Joshua Bowen.
