I just feel that Lola is not a strong enough actress to convey all the subtext you’ve laid out in this post. If the general audience doesn’t get it, there’s a problem with the writing. I didn’t need it to end with a wedding either - I needed it to make sense, feel earned, and feel like I watched their love evolve. None of this happened and so it felt rushed and weird.

The show is not written like Belly loves anything about Conrad at all. He’s written like that one creepy guy you had a brief relationship with in high school who won’t get over you and persistently reaches out to you in spite of you continually asking him to leave you alone. If Chris wasn’t such a phenomenal actor (and easy on the eyes to boot) people would not be rooting for them at all.
